Why not introduce some vents on the underside of the splitter to direct some air into the rad. Granted it won't maximize airflow going in but it'll help.
And you won't need to hack up your front bumper either [assuming that's what you were planning to do].
Something like this one:

Rex...when I was thinking of cutting my bumper up kinda similar to what you have drawn (remember me sending you an email) and you did mention about the integrity of the bumper and drag....I came up with something but havent done it yet (yes, I am a chicken)....
I was thinking of joining the 2 lower vents together....so you will cut out where ACURA is written and just join the lower 2 vents and add some support....I think that will be the best solution as it does not induce much drag....because of the splitter all the air will go upwards and hence more cooling under the hood....

It wasn't solid enough?

Up and down it is really strong with the trunk structure but side to side it still has some wiggle to it. I'm hitting up my home track in a few weeks which has a really fast front straight so its worth the 12 bucks reassurance to me. Its really rigid now. Also, any movement in the wing is effectively wasting downforce which i'm not in the business of doing.

BIR Track Day 2013
had the car up at my home track yesterday and had an absolute blast. With some new mods and their brand new widened track, I went from running 1:54's to running in the 1:49's!!!! Burned through the rest of the brake pads, but the clutch held up better, there's still meat on the slicks and nothing really broke so I'm super happy with the day. Had my first slicks on a slightly wet track experience which was a great challenge. But it dried up after lunch and the lap times just kept falling. This was a tradition track day so I'm sorry for the longer vids but enjoy all the traffic/passes. It was a blast.

dude... that was just fun.. I wasnt racing but I felt like I was there.. had a big smile like i was hitting the turns... can wait to get my car out to a track one day...
i am guessing there was a variety of folks on the track.. since I noticed a few of them not hitting the edge of the curves when they coming in and out... i was waiting for the volvo wagon to just unleash something hidden but it didnt.. that was dissapointing

I agree with Feji...some cars out there were not hitting the apex's, were not in a racing line but more of a "defensive" line....damn noobs LOL....
Rex, I love the racing line you take buddy....coz of the understeer, I do see you dive into the curve early and hit the apex and get an awesome out-corner speed and grip....
if all goes well you never know, I might make a trip down there and maybe you can give me a pointer or a dozen (bakers that is ) on track driving.....just waiting on brakes and wheels/tires

Rex, what about using some 2x4's for loading and unloading....even if you lower it 1/2", you will be a lot more stable at higher speeds....

Slam the trailer as well

This is a little late but oh well. As far as finishing off the front end with the new splitter, what about using that gap between the splitter and bumper to funnel air up to the radiator? You could make a piece out of aluminum to funnel it up.

Rex, I have been meaning to ask this question....
how do you cope with "that" corner? Recently, I was at the go-kart track in Chicago and was trying to get the fastest lap time there....on my 4th lap, i clipped a chicane and ended up in the wall....after that, I saw my approach was very very different at the chicane, I wasnt pushing as hard in order to avoid another 'accident'....
So how do you cope with that? How do you mentally prepare for that corner on the next lap?
I took me a full 5-6 laps to push as hard as I was pushing on that corner...

I remember when I went go karting (years back) and forgot to check my ego at the gate...spun out 5 times in 6 laps LOL....
at the KC Meet when we went go karting, the fool in front of my slammed on the brakes and I thought hitting the wall was a better idea than hitting the car(t) in front of me and hence ended up in the wall....
so I totally agree EGO check is required....
here in Chicago, I went for the first 10 laps and all my laps were within 1 second of the fastest lap there....i started analyzing where I could push even harder....came out, lap 4 hit the wall....was not able to regain full confidence until lap 8-9....
good thing was it was 1 minute and 10 second lap, but if you are at a track which is ~2 minutes, you dont wanna go through 20 odd minutes just regaining your confidence and regaining it will be tough since its not a go-kart, its YOUR car...

I spun my car auto crossing 1.5 weeks ago. I found it rather amusing and it didn't bother me but there was no wall to worry about.
I would start out there before pushing it 10/10's at a real track. Driving a fwd car is a lot different than a small rwd go-cart.
