TL Diet 2.0/Track Car Build - Roll Cage Pg 51

It's possible that you will have more timing if the IAT sees colder air. That's a good thing as long as you have the octane to support it.
The larger throttlebody will definitely affect the way you drive the car. It's the same as that old electronic Spring Booster that opened the throttle farther for the same pedal input. The throttlebody may or may not make more power, depending on whether or not the stock one was a restriction. But since it's larger in diameter you're getting a lot more air at lower throttle openings while top end probably won't be affected that much. It will be most noticeable under partial throttle. Might be good for rev matching and when you need a quicker blip of the throttle.

Moar updates and PICS!
when I took of the runners the first time I saw that the knock sensor was broken and decided to replace it. apparently it's a common thing and has a TSB? I'd never heard of it though.
Ported the new 3.7 manifold today. Was a little conservative and didn't port as much as I could've but I was more concerned with polishing it back to how smooth is was OEM. So the pics are before I sanded them back down to 400 grit smoothness, they're damn smooth now.
Got two new Hoosiers in today as well!
BIGGEST NEWS THOUGH IS THE NEW WING!!!!!! Here's some comparison shots to the wing from last year! can't wait to feel the grip this season.
I'll get some pics up over the weekend of all the new projects actually on the car but there's a lot of work to be done before that happens

Loving the new update....great job on the IM....I am looking into selling my whole intake setup (runners to filter) and am working on something else....else see how that will go
The wing looks SICK !!!
I might look into that smaller wing....I am pretty sure I will need it in the next 150-ish lbs LOL

Picks of the progress made today; IM/TB and intake are all in and done. Had to move my catch can to the other side of the engine bay but that wasn't too hard to do in order to make room for the new intake.

Hey Villo! Can you feel the extra power? Do you have Flashpro? And I was wondering if you could take pix of where the brake duct hose connects to the fog light opening and where it connects to the back of the rotors? And thanks a bunch for the updates bro!
#1498
Haven't driven it yet obviously (not even a thought to put this on the street lol) and no I don't have flashpro, 04 here brother.
ugly but gives you an idea

Thanks for the pix as usual Villo! That looks great and definitely gives me an idea of what to do for mine! Did you make those metal rotor cylinders yourself? And what hose diameter do you use?
#1501
Why do you say that? ran it like that last year with no problems at all.
Yeah I made those myself. I ran 2" but now I know there's room for 3" no problem.

Like if you left any port open on the intake it gives you an intake leak.

The tube from the rear valve cover is the intake pipe is eliminated down to just a filter on the valve cover for me. It all allows the crankcase to breathe and depressurize as needed but also keeps the IM as clean as possible hopefully.

yep, welded to the frame area and reinforced all the way around to ensure there's no loss of downforce to trunk flex, pivoting, etc.
as for the sound deadening - honestly I'm just burned out of removing that crap. After doing the 4 footwells I'm just not up for tackling the rest right now....maybe some day I'll get to it.

Had some time today before flying tonight to button up some wiring and finally hear the car run with the new setup. Sounds excellent but have some CEL issues and ABS Light to diagnose before she'll actually be ready for the track.
Wing project is almost done as well so stay tuned for updates.

I was watching this show are you faster than a redneck on speed channel the other day. Where the rednecks pick on imports and see if they can beat them on a road course. I would love to see villo on the show and beat them lol

haha I just caught that show for the first time at a bar last week, hilarious to say the least. If they did things a bit differently on the show it'd be a whole lot more tempting lol.

Still in a mad dash to get the car ready for the shakedown on April 19th. Pulled all the un-needed fuses out yesterday, who knew it can run on so few!!!!! lol I must have pulled at least a dozen or so out.

Really happy with how the cleaned up dash area is turning out. The majority of the metal framing is gone, along with some wiring as well. I did have to bend up a bracket for the VSA Yaw sensor being I assume it's calibrated for about that spot in the car and I didn't want to mess anything up by moving it. It's still a mess with cut up dash dust but I thought I'd share some pics.
