bwahaha you figure out how to get that thing off!!!
Also relocated the VSA OFF switch today to the main part of the dash board by the battery kill switch. Being i have no use for the trunk release or mirror controls, I'm just gonna ditch the lower dash cover.

Can all or parts of the evap stuff be removed without a cel ?
Is there just a sensor that needs to stay plugged in and I can remove the rest ?
Trying to take this out today if I can lose some or all the weight without a cel.

I think it was Brian6speed who didn't like the rusty dash structure, so this is for you hahaha. After some investigation that portion of the dash frame is utterly useless for me with the lack of radio/navi/etc weight on it. So guess what? it's gone....for good....about 4-5lbs of worthless rusty steel total so far. stay tuned for more dash mods...
boy you guys are spoiled lately with pic updates.

You could always make your own out of aluminum and cover it too.
Wonder why the a/t for your cars is so heavy. The at version of my car is only 50 lbs heavier than my 6mt.
Are you gonna do a 6 point cage? What material?

I bet you could trade that portion of the upper dash with someone like hofiveo for a few hundred bucks.
Nice updates, though...I always love to know how light this car could be!
Any more info on that EVAP can thing? Is there a CEL? Tell me now. Not any thanks or pleases or anything. Just more info that I could have found with the direction you already pointed me in.

Gonna rip out and work on my dash soon. I would just leave the dash uncut except if needed for cage. Just gut the underside of the dash as much as possible. I would cover it in alcantara or suede for reduced glare.

Jeremy,
on the Evap Canister you get a CEL and you will be smelling gas all the time....I have yet to do this mod as I love driving with my windows down (only front 2) and would hate to sniff on gas all the time....
Rex,
weigh her in already datgammit !!!
I might drive through the weigh station 10 odd miles away from home and see if I have put on of dropped some weight...

I removed all my evap stuff and the only smell of gas I had was for about 30secs to a minute after I pulled the lines because the vapor was pressurized and you could see it coming out.
I left a long section of rubber vapor line so I could face it down low.I did not remove that line from the top tank.
Doing it like that you might smell vapor in car.
I remove all the stuff under the hood too and capped the mani off.
Quick way to save 7lbs,atleast that's what my evap stuff weighed.

Yeah I don't really smell gas in my garage anymore but who knows how it'll be on a hot day
Anil, I really do want to weigh the car but I can't just drive it down to a weigh place and weigh it lol. For me it's kinda a pain in the ass.

Hey guys wanted to run some ideas by you for some upgrades I'm considering this month. Looks like I'll get to put some of my tax return towards the car and I'm trying to prioritize what I should do first.
Here's what I'm considering in no particular order:
Motor mounts
TL-S front sway bar
New rear wing (doing regardless)
3.7L IM/TB
4" Intake (probably will do regardless)
PCI LCA bushings
I have an idea what's more benefitical but how would you rank them? Or is there anything mod wise I haven't thought of yet?

Or, do the motor mounts, sway bar, and compliance bushing together.
I would do the rear wing last.
Either way, whatever you think would benefit you the most, start there

+ 1 on everything he said....
On the intake side, I would also add ported and polished runners...that will gain you a lot...
another thing I would suggest is the Energy Bushings for the sway bar and moog end links....those are awesome !!!!
I have the innovative engine mounts and they work very very well....I have the 60A and I see slight donut-ing....I reached out to them recently and the said, order a new set and we will refund you the full $$$ and you will just pay for shipping...I know XLR8 has some mounts too...look into both options
I recently got the Type S front sway bar from someone on the forum and got moog end links and energy bushings....I need to do this along with the mounts....
now dropping the sub frame is something am looking into....

I definitely get the benefit in finishing off the suspension mods but would really like to see the difference with that slight bump in power and the 100+ lbs I've probably taken off the car this winter. I've just noticed corner exit as a place where the car needs more power or shorter gears. But we all know gearing won't be happening anytime soon.
Also, if I did the IM/TB intake, it would set me up really good to add cams and a tune later in the year or next winter. just a thought.
But either way I'm doing a new rear wing and front splitter this spring to make full use of my other aero mods.
