E-Shift Performance is a new company in business for about seven months, but, my prior experience is with managing SPI PowerExcel. With that responsiblility it allowed me to be in the designing, fabrication, Dyno tuning and installation departments. We have developed and installed different power related systems such as Turbo Systems, Twin Charged (Mini), Nitrous Systems and engine development.
The E-ProCat was prototyped for “Nitrotiger” as per his request. Again, this was a one-off design that after it’s installation and test results, he urged us to let it be available in small amounts to the guys in this forum. With that said, we needed some form of confirmation from the group for their interest in the product. Secondly, we intended to use this as advertisement for our new business. The amount needed for us to start this project is 15 to 20 confirmed orders.
Listed below are the components that comprise the E-ProCat:
· 3 Metal Cat (around $200.00 each plus shipping and handling)
· 2 Top cylinder Head Flange $20.00 each
· 2 Mid Pipe Flange $15.00 each
· 2 Center Cat Flange $15.00 each
· 4 o2 sensor bungs $9.99 each
· Burns Stainless U bends $34.00 each
· Plus custom cutting and welding

The manufacturer is Metal Cat. You can look it up on the web. The EPA and CARB information is listed there. We are NOT claiming or confirming that this system is EPA or smog compliant. The E-ProCat in it’s design was developed to be as EPA sensitive as possible, that is why we incurred the time and cost of the Cat. We again, only designed this for “Nitrotiger” and have NOT yet tested this at a smog station. We have not had any engine check light issues with this car.
This is a complete bolt-on system. If any issues, your original system could be replaced at will. This is one of the best Cat’s on the market today. The test results from “Nitrotiger’s” car suggest that he is getting better gas mileage as well. This system has shown over 21whp and 14 ft. torque on average. On a natural aspirated engine this is a significant gain by just exhaust bolt-on.
Remember guys, this is not our main business, just a value add product to our company. Thanks for reviewing the product and if you are still interested. Let us know. Thanks.

Full break down, covering all details. haha and Jersey residents know, when in doubt if you cant pass inspection you can always buy the sticker.

sounds good to me. Maybe something I could get down the road but I don't even have an intake yet for this car:P (thinkin bout fujita to be different) but is anyone considering wraping their ProCats. I know it was effective with my turbo set up and friends NA setup too on civics.

Will you guys produce the "offroad only" headers as well, ones w/o the cats? I'm not too worried about emissions, especially since it's a new car, and they are a long way away.

If you find O2 simulators, this may be possible but your computer will go crazy with no cats. This will result in a lose of power.

The TL uses the all-electronic Drive-by-Wire Throttle System, first developed for Honda Formula 1 racing engines. It senses accelerator pedal motion, then a computer weighs this data against vehicle speed and engine data in real time and opens the throttle accordingly.

I am guessing the wire throttle body is just a wire connected from the pedal to the throttle.

I think your 1st explanation may be correct. I was trying to see if we can get our throttle body ported. And the guy i found say'a he is not doing the wire throttle body at this time. Basicly i am trying to get all the power i can get with out forced induction

I think that I would leave our throttle body alone. Our computer is way to sensative and this may not be such a good thing to do. i would leave it alone for a reputable throttle body company to tackle this. I

ESP... I would like to thank you for your time and engineering in this project. I have been an avid J32 performance addict for some time now and have been waiting for a solution to this collector dilemna. Apparently you have the solution and i'm a big fan of it.

I assume you will need 15-20 deposits before any production will take place.

Therefore, we need to start a list to see where we are at.

Pele96,
Yes I believe any automotive muffler/exhaust shop can do the install. You will have to ask them how much they charge. There is 3 pieces.

Im first on the list and I OK it for you to move up in front of me, I know I was after you with the deposit. I am anxious about these, for some reason, I know it is just me but my crazy thinking has me thinking that I will not get too much of a gain out of these. Maybe I am just afraid of the worst! It is hard for me to explain but I think crazy. If everyone is getting the same amount of HP, I would be the one thinking that I wont do as good.

I'm sure once they make em...they'll do em all at the same time for economies of scale...so they prob will get released all at the same time....its just mine have to come all the way to me here in Indiana, which is why I wanted to be up on the list early! Dont want to be reading about these things and not have em yet! (lol)

Im sure that it would make the computer go a bit crazy, but w/ 02 simulators, i think it should be fine. When I had my Altima, I had the same setup w/o cats and no simulator, and all I needed to do was install a washer between the 02 bung and sensor to move it out a bit. Hope you guys plan to make them w/o cats

W/O cats? I hate it when others take out their catilatic converters. You can smell a car without cats from a mile away.

Update for E-Shift ProCat!!

Hello,
Dont worry the first 15 to 20 customers will get the E-Shift ProCat at the same time. Customers who want the product shipped will be shipped to you. The E-Shift ProCat comes with a warranty card. You will have to fill that out and be mailed out to E-Shift Performance. The E-Shift Procat will come with a heat shield and a heat wrap standard.

For the first 20 customers we will be having a special for install and dyno run. Price will be $150.00 USD. Your vehicle will be dynoed without the E-Shift ProCat and then with the E-Shift ProCat.

I'm in, just one question first. What kind of warrenty do you have for the entire kit? (e.g. how long is it covered and what happens if a weld breaks / cracks?)

Like some of you, i too was worried about the gains from this "header" thats why i didnt put a deposit on it yet, but i was looking through some old honda tuning mags and im sure some of u remember the issue with the 3rd gen TL.

HT did a dyno of a stock 6sp TL and they pulled it 3 times and came up with a baseline of 215hp and 194 lb-ft. The bolted on a injen intake, comptech exhaust and a sun voltage and ground system. After all that they said it pulled consistant pulls in the high 230's and topped out with a pull at 245hp....lets say the voltage and ground sys made 5hp then it brings it down to 240hp...Nitro made 261hp...thats a gain of 21hp...

Im not sayingg everyone is going to get 21HP, every car responds differantly, some of us will see higher gains than others, but after stumbling across this article again im sold on the cat and am puttin my deposit tomorrow...Another thing to look at is differant dynos and settings will give out differant readings...but i hope this loosens some of us up alittle bit and i know this made it easier for me to pull the trigger on this mod.

for those of us who dont remember the HT article the link below is the threat about it.

as for the headers, i have more of a concern about the warranty (all catalytic converters have to come with a warranty) than the power gaains. it is not clear whether or not the other parts/welds, etc carry a warranty and if its parts and labor/only parts/labor for 6mo, etc
