Sorry Rockstar, I thought you had or was waiting on an ECU as well. Didn't mean for you to get in the middle of it.

I had sent Rodney a couple of emails in the past and he answered promptly and seemed like a very nice guy. That doesn't seem to be the case with his business practices, however, which is unfortunate for someone who seemed so nice.

^^^ Sonnick, Rodney is a very nice guy....and down to earth....but am not sure about his business model....he has taken on a lot of Turbo projects which have his hands full but there are many people who are waiting on this....

if he would have delivered on this ECU as i thought he would last year, he would have sold twice as many ECU's

the guy who made them, rodney (JnR performance) has been MIA for quite some time. people who paid almost a year ago still haven't gotten what they ordered. he's rough around the edges as far as communication is concerned. business practices are questionable at best. the ECU itself requires A LOT of tuning to get right. it is not a simple plug and play option.

IMO, this unit is FAR from being complete from a marketing and business standpoint.

however, i will say, if you have the time and knowledge and abilitiy to tune/dyno often...you can tweek every paramater on this thing and get it to work for your particular car. all cars are not the same...and it takes time and money to make this thing work efficiently and as advertised. no cookie cutter here.

Thanks for the explanation guys. Gosh thats a long time, think there will be a version 2 of the ecu? When is the last time someone talked to rodney? Think I'm just going to wait it out a little longer and maybe things will work themselves out.

The firmware continues to evolve and the at this point, the newest hardware available is an integrated knock circuit and realtime clock that can be added directly to the MS3.

Other than that there isn't much that can be done to justify a "V2" release.

Right now, it's the turnaround that is the issue. In hindsight, the addition of the injectors, WB controllers, etc just made this situation worse. Each person should have just sourced those things on their own and Rodney should have just dealt with the ECU's and harnesses.

My ride is running very well at this point, although as some have indicated, MPG is suffering a bit. I put my foot into it a lot and got about 16MPG on my last tank.

Idle is the only unstable thing right now but not bad enough to be a show stopper. All this is running on Rodney's base tune with a little tweaking.

Sonnick, not a problem, buddy. As much as I was following and posting in this thread, I'm not surprised you thought I had a stake in the matter.

Thanks bud! lol

Dead serious, mine is sitting in a box in my Transformer room, where it has been since I got it. My turbo Civic is fixed, so I have no want/need to screw with the TL further. Link is in my sig for anyone interested, if your "local" I will gladly meet up a reasonable distance.

Just so you guys know...Rodney is posting about his Drag Integra over on J32a....not only making passes, but buying DSS axles (more than 1 pair) and forged 3rd/4th gears for the Teg (not to mention the whole turbo kit) YET....he hasn't had 1 post here helping anyone or resolving this mess. If he didn't already before, he's lost all respect from me at this point. Pitiful.

... words cannot express my disgust. Most of us early adopters of his stuff have kept quiet about his business practices in hopes that things would change for the better, though obviously they haven't. It's beyond that point, and he clearly could care less about supporting anyone that has bought into his lies. He may in fact be a nice guy in person, but, as a small-business owner myself, the piss-poor way he's treated his customers is unacceptable. Rule #1, if you don't take care of your customers, someone else will. It's that simple.

That's again why there needs to be a more open discussion regarding the MS3 as a whole and turn this task over to the community. This closed-source type mentality is really fucking up the atmosphere around here and I, for one, will not continue to back it up. Yes, people need to make money for the work they've done, but when you do it in a way that is essentially selling a product that only half works, then you've completely tossed away the opportunity that you had to maintain your stronghold on the market (not to mention customer loyalty).

Thanks, Sonnick for posting about this.

It's just really sad the one-and-only 'tune' (well, half tune for most) for the DBW J series belongs to such a sh1tty business owner (or lack thereof). I'm sick of saying "hopefully you guys will get it, keep your heads up." Fcuk that. The audacity this man has for keeping you guys at bay with his lies is disgusting.

I am so sorry for those of you who still are waiting for this ECU. Rodney showed so much interest when the money was coming in. Now that the money stopped, he too, stopped. It seems to me the money was being used to build his Integra. It seems as if he had this plan all along. I can't even....

Well just by looking at a few posts on that other site, it looks as if his reputation proceeds him. Word travels faster than what I think he was expecting. I doubt he'll be doing much more work for others in the J-series community at this rate.

It happens to us all, Anil. You think you know someone and stand up for them and BAM, then you look like the ahole.

Seems like the only way to force any action with this guy has been to go the legal route...or call Ma Dukes!

I hear ya, I feel stupid myself.

How many people are still left without product that you were managing?

It appears someone else is waiting on a turbo as well. Not sure if he's also prepaid.

I noticed that the store is gone from his site so there's definitely something happening down there. It's a shame, such potential lost.

Someone should call his mother again LMAO

this is the shit i talked about a long time ago. Say if something were to happen to Rodney especially drag racing, Who the hell was going to refund everybody their money...

I cant even call this a small business anymore... Hes just a guy that figured something out but would rather enjoy his time off than his time working since he already got paid...

Cant even tell when was his last activity on Acurazine since he removed it from his profile

Nope. What can they possibly do? not allow him to become a vendor again.. that wouldn't solve this problem. And they are not responsible for Rodney either... Either Legal action on your own, get the runaround from rodney for either your stuff or money, or go knock on his door and resolve things how you see fit...

Really, man? You're going to make personal threats on the internet? Yes, we all have a very strong distaste for this guy, but this is just ridiculous...

The best thing we can do is to open-source the little bit that he's done so that he cannot make any more money from it. His free ride has ended.
