Navigation Hack Guide: Welcome Screen Mod, Trip Computer, OK Button Nag Removal
#1241
I get a "GO" button in the lower right of the screen... ???
"GO" button in lower right of screen after trying no nag hack
OK, so I think I followed the directions correctly. I started with the orange 3.5 CD, and modified BNHH401A.BIN for the no nag hack. But after loading the hack CD and then the 3.5 disc back into the DVD reader, this is what happens:
*Turn the key to ACC
*Factory standard background screen appears for ~10 sec
*Blank screen appears for ~10 sec
*Then a button appears in the lower right with the word "GO".
*I push the GO button and it takes me to the map screen.
So this seems close to what I want, because the legal disclaimer doesn't appear, but I still have to push this button labeled "GO" to make the map appear. I am assuming that the hack completely eliminates the need to press a button and takes you to a map.
Any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks... -Brian

I have been searching and searching and was wondering if anyone had the patches to hack the 3.30g navi. I am looking for the the ok button / nag removal, trip computer, and a/c controls. I have already replaced the backrgound, but I just can't seem to find the patches for 3.30g. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

V 3.9 question
Hello, I am new to the site, love all the information. I haven't been able to find if the Navi hack is possible for the new orange 3.9, and would appreciate any help possible. Thanks!!
#1252
Ok, so I give up trying this on my own, and I'm hoping for some help.
Background -
2006 w/ orange 3.5 nav disk.
I've read every post in this thread about three times now.
I had issues with both versions (command and gui) of dumpnavi, so I ended up downloading the files from post 1182.
I burned the 2 files to a disk, get the load from disk prompt, and it appears to load fine. The modified background comes up, but after that I get the disk error message. If I ignore it and go to the menu, I can see that the trip computer mod is there too.
When I eject that disk and put the nav disk back in, it just reloads and goes back to the original background with no hacks.
I've now tried burning those two files onto three different types of disks, on two different computers, using three different programs. (Nero being the latest.)
Any ideas? Several people have posted that they were successful with using those downloaded files, so I assume they are good. Others however, have had the same issue as me, and I haven't seen anyone who has found the answer and posted it, unless I'm missing something.

I'm having the same issue others are having with 3.5. I downloaded http://www.xpehobo.com/acura/2005navi.zip and burned all that to a CD. It seemed to load fine and it would bomb out, put in the original DVD and I was left with no hacks.
I used the GUI version of dumpnavi, burned that and got the blank screen with GO. I want to eliminate the OK button more than anything. Don't care about the trip computer, HVAC, etc. So I know I am burning and loading it in correct.
I was trying to find the 3.40c navi.exe but the links are all dead. Can someone send that to me?

Hey guys. I’ve tried to apply the Welcome screen hack to my MDX07 with 4.81a white navi DVD. I used DL+R and Roxio media player to burn it. When I was planning the project, I decided to try to make an identical copy of the original DVD first and see if this will work first before making any modifications to the files. Unfortunately it did not. The software loaded and passed the Welcome Screen (the original) and moved on to the legal disclaimer (nag screen) but it didn’t show up the OK button and after a while, it turned off. I did some research and learned that there are a lot of different opinions on the issue such as the way our DVD burners write the data (OTP vs PTP). Other opinion mentioned reading a Disk ID from the original disk as a key, etc. However, I also know that some members applied the modifications successfully to ver. 3.55 and up and burned the DVD with no problems. So, my question is this: What is the last unprotected version that I can use to apply the change. I heard 4.61 would work and someone said s/he used 4.62 with no problem. What is the verdict?

Anyone know where I can get the Trip Computer Patch and the OK Button Patch for the 3.5 disc? I have a 2006 TL and just decided to go ahead and try this stuff, but the links on the first page don't work anymore.

Never mind, I found them at this link:

I got the 3.5 trip computer/AC controls hack working, but I'm having trouble with the OK button. When I try to mod the bin file with the updated navi.exe file it says it's too large. How do you get around this?

This is what happens when I try to update the bin file with the new navi.exe:
Anybody get passed that?
Code:
C:\NavHack>dumpnavi BNHH401A.BIN update navi.exe Updating navi.exe ... The size of the updated file must be less-then or equal to the size of the old f ile. This feature might be introduced in a newer version. Updated file (COMPRESSED): 3028323 bytes Old file (COMPRESSED): 3028315 bytes

Sigh, been through like 6 cd's now to no avail, and 3 endless loops.
Followed every instruction to the dot, and can't get it to work.
I use all the original files for the 3.5 Orange navi disk, and patch them accordingly to AD's vistabug site.
Unfortunately, upon popping in the new DVD i always end up in a loop of the new Back.bmp but it won't even say that the disk is unreadable. I'm absolutely stumped, and quite frankly frustrated to the point of giving up lol.
If anyone has it working on 3.5 and can outline every single step they used (including if they put all the patches on one BIN file or did each of the nag/trip comp/welcome screen on different CD's) etc. it'd be greatly appreciated.
^Danny, you have to use Bysin (updated dumpnavi). Located on the first page

Re-did the entire process using the Cebin method. Still nothing, and this time my entire nav crashed to a black screen. Getting a little flustered.
Juts to clarify, does this work on a Canadian TL? If it doesn't i'm going to be quite... err.

chouchou and Rude, what hacks are you trying to apply? I found it beneficial to do one at a time so if something went wrong, I'd know where it was.
I finally got my navi.exe reloaded with cebin, thx guys. I currently have the Trip Computer/AC controls hack and the OK button minus the AD sig hack working.

What version CD do you have? I'm on 3.5.
did you use fuzzymit's OK button hack fix? I'm going to do them one by one today, starting with the splash screen, then the trip computer, then the ok button hack.
Which hacks did you use?

I'm still on 3.5 too.
I used AngryDad's trip computer hack. But for the OK button, I used the instructions in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/ok-bypass-ad-free-edit-everything-606184/
Specifically in this post: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...9&postcount=14
To do this you need to start with a fresh navi.exe right out of the navigation disk's bin file. After I modded navi.exe I put it back in the bin file with Cebin using the short script below:
For this to work you need the BNHH401A.bin file, the new modified navi.exe, cebin.exe, and this script (I just called it loadnaviexe.cebin) all in the same folder. As you can see I put it in C:\NavHack\. Then you navigate to that folder in a command prompt and run this line: cebin loadnaviexe.cebin.
That will create a new file BNHH401A.NEW that you can copy elsewhere and change the extension to .bin. Then put that and the other bin file on a CD and that's it!

I must be missing it, I have version 3.4 and the patches did not work for that version. Do I need to get a copy of the 3.50 HMIManager.exe or do I need another version of the patch? Thanks.

Hey, Everyone, Today is my first day here, but so far so good. I have successfully completed the Navi hack for version 3.5 so if anyone need it let me know.
Question I have is this. With the hack I also changed my background/startup screen. Does anyone know if it is possible to have that screen displayed anytime you want? IE, if yo udo not want to see the map, or radio you can just have that screen show up.... any help would be great.

I did also just do a test. I CAN send the files needed for the hack through my AOL email. Since I am new here I cannot recieve PM's for 10 days or something dumb, but feel free to ask me for them here.
