While I don't have a TL I do have a 2006 Accord and I have done the welcome screen hack. I am updating to the newest 4.91 I think....anyways, will installing the update remove my pic?? If so, how can I replace it? Is it the same as original except different file names? And what would the files names be?
Thanks...
Thanks...

Yes, you will have to re-apply the hack specific to the upgraded version. Currently, there are have for v3.40 through v3.90. Also note that you must re-apply the hack anytime you have to enter the security code after unplugging the battery.

I tried navigating through all 31 pages but just cant so forgive me if this problem has been run into before. It seems as if everytime I insert a disc it will reboot the navi which doesnt allow for me to load the modified files. Some backround...
Car is a 2006 TL using version 3.50 orange disc
I copied the files locally to my PC
Used the dumpnavi.exe application
In the bootloader file I browsed to BNHH401A.BIN which is what BIN is showing in the version menu of the Navi
I have the tick selected for Modify Bitmap and point to a file I created thats of the right size and format per the instructions
I have the tick selected for Modify Nag screen
It goes for a few moments then tell me BIN file sucessfully modified and its modify date in windows explorer shows that it was modified.
I burn that file as part of these 9 files to a DVD
BN2HH12C.BIN
BN2HH110.BIN
BN2HH120.BIN
BN2HHMLD.BIN
BN2HN12B.BIN
BN2HN18B.BIN
BN2HN380.BIN
BNHH401A.BIN
BNHN404A.BIN
I go out to the car, let the OEM navi load until I see a map
Choose the 3 button combo, choose the version button so I'm on the second screen where you can choose Disc Load
Go to the back of the car and pop out the OEM disc and then pop in the modified disc
This reboots the navi back to the OEM splash screen (a friend who's done this says this shouldnt happen)
I go back to the car and do the 3button combo and then choose version and Disc Load button
It loads for a bit, restarts the navi and I get the OEM navi splash screen again and then it tells me disc read error
I put the OEM navi disc back in and it reboots the navi again and nothign has changed.
My friend tells me when he swaps discs it doesnt reboot his navi so he's getting to the Disc Load button, swapping discs, loading the new modified disc, and then after it loads the modified files he puts the OEM disc back in Viola all set.
Anyone have insight into why mine might be rebooting the Navi when I insert the modified disc?

This sounds like a burn issue. Try another disk/computer/application to burn your hack disk. I use IMGBurn (Google it) to burn my CDs and it works great.
You should only need BNHH401A.BIN and BN2HHMLD.BIN on the hack CD, as those are the two files that load the memory of the Navi unit.
Make sure you are using fresh copies of BNHH401A.BIN each time you run DumpNavi---the program does not like trying to hack and already hacked file. If all you want to do is change the bitmap on a BIN file you know is hacked for the OK/Trip mod, make sure you de-select the "Modify Nag Screen" box.
Hope this helps.

If you do have to use the Console version, try running it from a command prompt instead of double-clicking it in Windows.

Thanks dwb993, I just cant seem to get the BNHH401A.bin file copied to the dumpnavi from my desktop I know I'm missing a stupid step and its super frustrating. This should be so simple but I just cant get it. I've been looking for a nice set of detailed step by step instructions with pics maybe, just cant find them.

Ok i just purchased the 2010 3.9 Orange disk for 167, I have been trying to do the Navi hack. No i have tried these files to hack my navi because i read that they worked. Files/information Now It has worked but my issue is that when i use the A/C controls, i hit on and my fan comes on 'Awesome' but now when i hit off 'NOTHING happens' Now is this because i am hacking the 2010 3.9 or that is how the hack has always been. If anyone has hacked or got the hack to work for the 3.9 please pm me/Post/Email me jsteed59@gmail.com

I normally don't use the Navi controls for the A/C---the buttons are easier, IMO. The one function I use the most (besides the OK button hack, obviously) is the Trip Computer to get Instant Average.

@DWB993
Yeah but that is the thing, it may work on the 3.5 but not on the 3.9 differ versions. But you right there is no point in hacking for the A/C the physical buttons are easier. But let me know of it works or not on the 3.5 just curious. I guess ill have to just hack the trip and no ad, and image. Thanx

OK I just attempted this mod today for the first time using 2 different sets of modified files and they both are causing the same issues. First I load up the nav with stock dvd, eject disk then put in burned cd with 2 modded files. I Press the 3 buttons, click versions and load disk. it loads the files into the system for a few minutes and the modified pictures pops, the screen turns black then disk error. I eject the burned cd and replace with the OEM the modded splash screen shows up at first then the loading maps without nag, but then it starts reloading the files from the DVD and reboots back to normal. WTH!! anyone with this issue?

Ya did something wrong. Go back and check everything.
Remember to hack a fresh BIN---the hacks will screw up an already hacked BIN.
Try doing one hack at a time, burning it and applying it. See if you can track down what portion of the process is screwing you up. Use a CDRW for this.
Try a different burner and/or software combo. I use IMGBurn (Google it) and it has replaced Nero for all of my burning needs except 5.1 channel DVD-A burns. Try a slower burn speed and/or different media manufacturer.
If other people have done it successfully, you can, too.

So first off, does this work with 3.30G? Dont see any mention of this version in the original post.
And if it does work with 3.30G, I have all my .BIN files copied to my computer, but there are only 8 of them, and when I run the dumpnavi program I get an error "Unable to open file \srhg." followed by "Error extracting files in BIN".
Help?
edit: 9 files if I include ADD.BIN, but the total size of these files is 345mb, not 104mb....

If anyone can post a working hack for 3.5, that would be great. I've wasted about 20 DVDs / CDs to no avail. The closest I've been able to get was having the custom background and navi hack show up, but just like everyone else, it just re-downloads the original navi software once i put the DVD back in.
I consider myself pretty tech-savvy, but this has got me stumped!

Roger 555 that would be great. I am having difficulty in getting the no nag hack to work. Ugh!

"GO" button in lower right of screen after trying no nag hack
OK, so I think I followed the directions correctly. I started with the orange 3.5 CD, and modified BNHH401A.BIN for the no nag hack. But after loading the hack CD and then the 3.5 disc back into the DVD reader, this is what happens:
*Turn the key to ACC
*Factory standard background screen appears for ~10 sec
*Blank screen appears for ~10 sec
*Then a button appears in the lower right with the word "GO".
*I push the GO button and it takes me to the map screen.
So this seems close to what I want, because the legal disclaimer doesn't appear, but I still have to push this button labeled "GO" to make the map appear. I am assuming that the hack completely eliminates the need to press a button and takes you to a map.
Any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks... -Brian

Hello everyone, first of all I love my 04 TL and this is only the first that i found out that there is a way to hack it the navi. After reading through the threads, and absorbing all those infos, i really got confused. from what files to download and and which programs to use. I would appreciate it if some could help me out in hacking my navi or just even point me out to the threads that already has the solution and the files to be downloaded.
i have a 3.30d navi cd.
Thank you guys for your help.

Hi guys, newbie here
Have been reading this forum for 5 years now to a lot of good use.
I have a 04 TL and need a newer version of the orange DVD. I have the 3.10 version. I am moving to Virginia and the 3.10 doesnt help at all. I guess any update would be welcome

Question
I have an 07 TL with Navi. Got transferred to Alaska. Acura will not provide the database for the navi to work up here. Anyone able to tell me how I can modify the nav system to work in Alaska?
As you can imagine this is really frustrating! When the car doesn't know where it is you can't set the clock. I even went looking to trade it in! Problem is no other car I found was as fast or as nice as the TL. I could really use some advice.
Thanks
