my questions is how did you guys take off the two metal bolts? I have the regular TL lip and they're pretty much in there. I'm thinking dremeling them off.
I also have the template for a regular TL lip if anyone reading this needs it. I'm going the tape method.

^^ I was thinking the same thing but it's going to be hard making holes for the clips because they aren't screws. The double side tape method can work well, you just have to make sure you use ample tape and focus in on the edges and you'll be fine.
If someone figures out a way to do it by adding the clips, I'd like to know so that I may consider that option as well.

You could always try making a template.......then decide how many clips & bolts you want to use.

cant we glue on some thin strip of magnet on the spoiler so that it would "stick" to the trunk? wouldnt that help on top of the tape to help pull that spoiler on top of the the tape?

Well, I went to my dealer a few days ago and asked about the 07 type S Lip for my 06. The parts guy looked up the part # and says it costs $455 CDN plus install of $100 and taxes...basically, i'm looking at $600 for a lip spoiler that u guys are pay $100 US for.
Here's the reason....in Canada, that part is "considered an accessory . go figure

mo_man, go to another dealer, I got my from a dealer in St Catherin's for $120 CND, I think list price is only $140 so they're trying to rip you off. Regarding the mounting. I checked out a fellow Acura Zine memeber's TL yesturday and he used weather stripping (the stuff they use to install windshields to cars) and the spoiler isn't going anywhere. It's on tight so i'm goina try that instead of the 3M tape (which i couldn't find at Canadian tire) when the weather gets nicer.

actually, can somebody tell me what weather stripping is?? i keep on thinking it's some black tape that goes around the windshield but when i looked it up it's some adhesive thing? for those of you having issues with the edges lifting, it seems like the weather stripping stuff holds on really tight

Hey guys i just installed the type s spoiler on my 05 Satin Silver Metallic TL. Payed about $120 for the spoiler and had my friend at his autoshop paint it Satin Silver for me. I ordered it in alabaster silver but it was to dark and noticable so i opt. to respray it. My first mod...hehe

I think the amount of adhesive on the bottom edge looks a little funny. It should sit more evenly (ideally). It's hard to tell from the pics if the color really matches. The side shots look like a better match than the shots from above.
All the best,

I ordered my type s lip spoiler from tim about a week or two ago and it is in the shop getting painted Anthracite. Just got a call from the shop and they say bring it in tomorrow for installation and the guy quoted me 169.00 painted and installed drilling two holes. I hope there is no lifting on the edges though. I will post some pics this weekend!!

That was a typo, which they have promptly fixed now... No more cheap spoilers guys. It's over.
I replaced my WDP lip spoiler with the Type-S spoiler this weekend. You do have to drill NEW holes (no template, and the other lip soiler mounting points don't line up).
I put putty on the mounting points of the studs, then pressed the spoiler into place. The putty stuck to the trunk in the exact spot where the mounting point makes contact. Just punched a hole and drilled a hole there.
Perfect.
When installed, it looked a bit like this on the bottom edge.
1) That's the way the Type-S looks too.
2) It's due to the forming of the spoiler, it's a little off, thus you have to PUSH/Flex the edges forward to maek it tight.
3) There's not adhesive on the bottom edge. What you see is an OEM foam that appilied keep the spoiler from contacting the triunk.
You may want to invets the $12 in the Type-S trunk springs to go with it.
BTW, I have my WDP lip spoiler for sale in the BM... $150.

I had the same problem with mine......I went back and made the holes a little larger - more oval so I could push it forward on the trunk.
Before - With the gap....
After - Without
Kennedy - How may holes did you end up drilling....?

I was gonna buy 3 more, 1 for the center, and 2 for the edges. If that don't hold em, nothing's gonna.

Once I put it on I will tell you how good the fit and finish is, using 6 bolts.
Humm maybe it was Revolt too..........LOL
