Same here. I will not add the rear deck lip spoiler. I have to admit it looks great.

Oh I might do it but I'll have to think long and hard about it.
I can't drill holes in it...... would hurt me more than the car. I just got my TLS Tails and sides today - once those are on I just know I'm going to want the spoiler too

Upon further inspeaction, I'm not sure the why everyone is jizzing all over themselves for this...
1) It's about 1/4" bigger than the accessory version. Whoop-tee do.
2) It's cheaper... Not after you've paid a shop to drill 7 (vice 2) holes in your trunk and HOPE they don't screw it up... and don't forget to order the stiffer trunk spring that IS included withthe accessory.
It also appeard to us trim clips that appear to have a plastic mounting grommets. Without ordering a replacement rear trunk, this is not a DIY install.
Has anone actually even installed one yet?

I'm going to paint this used OEM spoiler ASM to match my 06 TL. I will remove the two studs and just use the double sided tape to install to the trunk lid. I have the OEM template but I really don't want to drill holes in my trunk lid.

That looks sweet, Henryk! Can't wait to see it at the meet. Since Anthracite is no longer made for the '07 models, I'll just stick with my lip spoiler which I need to re-adjust. Did you take this to Voyles to let them do it?

How is this possble? In this picture there are 2 studs (like the accessory version and they appear to be in the same place) and 5 trim clips.
Did you just remove the 5 trim clips and use 3M tape on the edges (again, like the accessory version)?

So... Help me to understand this...
You paid money...
For the opportunity to drill holes into your trunk lid...
For the purpose of installing a spoiler...
On a FWD car (which is of no benefit)...
....?

Hey I paid $300 for my Accessory Spoiler, drilled the holes myself in my 1-month old '06 TL back in June. There's a lot of us "crazy" Fwd-drivers here on this board. I got a little knot in my tummy when I was drilling the holes, but when I was finished it looked so cool!
Do you know how fast you have to be traveling for a traditional consumer auto spoiler to have any aero-effect on a car? A lot faster than most posted speed limits.
Most folk put the spoliers on their cars are only for asthetic purposes.

WTF...?
Almost ALL the mods done here are for "aestetic purposes".
- Aspec body kit? Boy, that makes it faster.
- What kind of downforce would you expect from a "lip" spoiler
- 18-19-20 in wheels... That a lot of rotating mass.
- Interior leds
the list goes on. his mod, his money... keep steppin.

Just asking... I meant no offense... In fact, I have the wing spoiler on mine... but it came that way off the lot, when I bought it.
When I asked the salesman why the spoiler on a FWD car, he said "A lot of people want their nice cars to look a little sportier..." OK, I buy that... Just personaly, I would save the money and make a real improvement... I would have been too nervous to start drilling holes in a noticeable body panel... but just me.
