I have installed a type-S spoiler on my 05 TL

Type-s spoiler fits fine. Perfect fit. Guess what guys- spoiler is a "part" not an accessory. Therefore- it is priced at $147 - Painted. Go to acura e-store. Installation- exact same way that the decklid spoiler is installed. Peace.

More details and pics please!

Hey dude! Your pics are missing from this post! What's "e-store"? I assume this can be had from any dealer? What is the actual part number you picked up? Thanks in advance for the help!

Cool, I got mine a couple of weeks ago for $97 shipped from Tim at HAW. I just need to get my previous spoiler holes filled in. Good to know it fit.

OK, as directed I went to www.estore.com and.... it's a web development/commerce site and does not sell car parts. Could you please be a little more clear? What EXACTLY is estore (you know, like a web addy or something useable)?

Google search honda estore: http://estore.honda.com/asp/logon.as...1024&bhiw=1004

Your zip code; Parts; Enter Acura, 2007, TL, 4, Type S, 5AT or 6MT, then interior color; Select Dealer; BODY / AIR CONDITIONING / TRUNK LID; Under item 29 look for your color under info; add to cart and done!

It's more elongated, about 3/4 inch bigger. Looks better IMO.

So I'm assuming that you actually screwed the lip in.

TetraLudious05 or dan...k, do you think its possible to use just double sided tape instead?

For everyone else wondering the differences between the spoilers, check out this thread: 04-06 lip spoiler same as 07 TL-S spoiler? (pics)

I Just bought one myself for $99 + shipping, but I have to get it painted because I have a '05 Satin Silver Metalic, which is color that's not available for the '07 TL-S'.
Did you have the dealership install it and how much did you pay? Being that it's a "part" and not an accessory it didn't come with the templates for installation. What color did you get?

Let us know how many bolts/holes need to be drilled. I spoke to Acura Service (dealer) this morning and they told me only two bolts/holes. I think it's at least 4. Cost of the spoiler $133.88 with tax plus $142.50 for labor = $276.38. Not bad, but would like more details prior to buying through Honda EStore.

Thanks,

It has only two bolts and five plastic tabs( three white and two blue, I am not sure what purpose these serve). I have one in hand right now.

Does this mean 7 holes will need to be drilled? When are you planning to install you Type S lip spoiler?

My car goes in this week. I currently have the wing spoiler, so its not just a bolt on and go thing. I don't know about the holes. I'll take a picture and load it up tomorrow.

Did you get a template for marking the position of the holes on the deck lid? My parts guy said it looks like seven holes to drill in the trunk lid. Two for the bolts and five for the plastic retainers.

Thanks dan.....k. Please take pictures of the top and bottom when you have a chance. It's almost a no-brainer at this price but I'm concerned about the drilling for the bolts and tabs.

I just ordered my Type S spoiler. What should I do? Bring it to the dealership to do it or DIY.

Anyone swapping out thier existing (old school) lip for this one?

1) Are bolt holes in the same spot?

2) Did we confirm the trim clips require drilling a hole too?

Here are some pics of the 04-06 TL spoiler. This on was removed from an 06 TL NBP. It still has the original tape. The two studs look like they may be the same as the 07 TL Type S in dan.....k photos. Might be a little off, don't know for sure ?

No template? and I need to drill 7 holes in the trunk lid? This one might require some thought - I can't bear the thought of drilling into her........
