Yeah, vacation was okay. Quick flight to NM, got some home cooking: duck, pork ribs, some mutton for good measure (and a token helping of gwai-lo turkey on Tgiving) Played with fire, worked on some schoolwork to wrap up this semester, finally got over a nagging sick. Realized my skin has become a soft little bitch from living in the humid swamp and got eviscerated in the first 8 hours of being in the desert.
Got back, took a couple days to recover and finalize my semester project.
Back to the work grind and suddenly unproductive. I wish it was as easy as deleting all the pr0n, but I think there is something fundamentally broken. It's always been a POS, but it just got excruciating. Hopefully it just shits the bed 100% and I can just give IT back a tote bag full of cinders and ashes.
Maybe one of the good Joes. My life is utter boredom spontaneously sprinkled with brief moments of whatthefuck.
Plus, I have all sorts of responsibility but no authority. And then I get to go to work and play wack-a-mole. I'm the mole.
If you really want to be me for a day you can get a compatible experience by waking up, having a breakfast scotch, and then have someone break your will somehow. Not necessarily physical abuse, but mental abrasion until breakdown is close. Go home. Cry.

Went for a run this evening and it's been a bit humid lately (yeah, no shit) but almost pleasant during the day. Warm enough, right. But come evening time, after sundown when the temp starts to drop, everything condenses. Around 8:30 or so, it was that magical time when it's pitchfuckingblack and the moisture all turns into this rolling zombie-fog.
So running on this path through an open field with zombie-fog up to about 3, maybe 4 feet off the ground.

Oh, but cool! This is the part where they haven't mowed in a while and there are random patches of these of 5-ish foot tall weedgrass plants lit up in the moonlight all creepy children of the corn style.
I'm not sure it's possible to piss yourself without actually pissing, but I think that's what I did. I mean, I'm a grown man and I got cars, and a pocket knife, and a debt, and grown man problems and junk, but that shit made me double time on out of there like I was 8 and some werewolf was about to eat my ass.
And not in a good way.

Sort of serious I guess. Pretty boring but I don't really cry much. I also don't usually drink immediately upon waking up. Usually. But there have been exceptions. And it doesn't count if one is just "irish-ing up" their coffee. But I do sort of work in this quagmire of middle man managing (note: *not* middle-management, rather I'm the man in the middle of managing a product/project) with a lot of responsibility but little authority. Basically, I do a lot of begging.
My life is a lot like Peter's in Office Space after he get locked in the hypnotized state. Except imagine he's on Benzodiazepine. That is, psuedo-Peter-Me makes Movie-Peter look like a coked out monkey.

Working on my MS in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Systems Engineering and Project Management. I couldn't bring myself to go for an MBA so I sort of "rolled my own" within the Engineering curriculum. I've got three classes left so if all goes well I'll be done next December. I've been taking classes off and on for like 10 years and just got serious a couple years ago about actually finishing before I die of old age.
I started back in like the 1800's (Ulysses S. Grant had just been elected), moved jobs/states, almost started again, changed jobs, changed jobs, moved jobs/states, started again, +1'd the family and stopped, and finally started again-again.
Cool thing is that when I finish up, my boring job will recognize all my effort and hard work by, oh wait -- nope. That'll still be the same.
