Calisthenics brah.
I've spread my large meals into smaller portions more frequently, do like 3 sets of pull ups and push ups every day, run or cycle occasionally. I'm down 15 lbs in 2 months, still look pretty muscular (it would be ridiculous to claim all 15 was fat loss, but it's a majority for sure).

Calisthenics is the perfect answer to a minimalistic effort that takes up no space and is practically free. You won't get huge, but you can lose a ton of fat and still build dense muscle.

Calisthenics without additional weights is not gonna make anyone swole but you can get fit AF. As you said the investment is rather small too.

All I'm saying is this. J, you have no fucking free time. Probably won't make it to the gym for a while and when you do it won't be consistent. Throw down a set of pushups a few times a day. Literally minutes. If you have a pull up bar, same thing, just throw down a max-rep set. And do it at your convenience.
We build this artificial barrier of needing to block time out of your day for a workout. But if you have no time to block, this is a way to get some in without disrupting your other, very important, responsibilities.
