Could it be used as a "normal" smartphone? Sure. But I wouldn't be happy with that lol.
I'm just aware that third party support, iPhone wins by a landslide. You can hardly fuck up an iPhone by just installing apps and clicking left and right. You can definitely fuck up an Android by clicking left and right.

Seriously though, if I wanted something simple that just works, I'd get an iPhone. Price is usually what drives people to Android and it's the wrong way to look at it IMHO.

Did 04-05 TLs have TPMS?

Just trying to hunt down a set of the 18x8.5 A-Spec wheels, but I thought they didn't have provisions for TPMS. Or am I on drugs?

So then I likely don't even want the 18x8.5, I imagine... The TPMS light would end up driving me bananas. And no, a piece of electrical tape on the gauges is not an option

Well that just makes my search for A-Spec wheels all the easier...

What's your issue? The lack of tpms on the 8.5? You can't retrofit tpms on it? I know Chip is having a hard time figuring it out, but it's possible.

The 8.5 have a specific finish on them that everyone wants, that's the biggest part, not the extra 1/2" or 1" of width.

I honestly don't know what the difference between TPMS and Non TPMS wheels is. I do want the 8.5s for their finish- they would match my anthracite grey car body very nicely.

I guess my issue would be that if getting the TPMS to work doesn't look 100% oem, tire shops likely won't put a tire on the wheel. They'll claim safety issues, no warranty, etc, etc. I'd imagine most would just straight up refuse to do it. doing a quick look into it, if the wheels aren't meant for TPMS, the sensors likely won't seat properly. Not sure how you'd get around that without either adding metal (welding), or cutting metal out, neither of which I'd want to do to a wheel. Seems risky.

J, sell me your 8.5s. I'll pay 2k for them

If anything, I maybe would just pull the fuse for the TPMS system. There's gotta be a way to disable it.

2K is tempting, but you're joking, and I love my stock wheels!

Chip was able to get one of the OEM sensors to seat properly on an 8.5 aspec...apparently there's a design flaw or something that's supposed to snap off on the sensor to allow it to be tightened down fully. PM him and ask..."themachine" is his screen name.

Back to reality.

Hope y'all had a good Thanksgiving! Except the Canadians who are too good to celebrate stealing other people's land.

I drove down to Jacksonville Floriduh with a buddy, twas a gay ol' time. We made an awesome turkey wrapped in bacon. Saw the Postmodern Jukebox show, it was off the fucking hook! If you guys ever have the chance to go to one of their shows, do it: it's fantastic.

We politely asked the natives.

Anyway now they have little reserves they can live in, get drunk and make smoke signals to their heart content. We even give them tax reductions.

Awesome to hear...It definitely brought a different dynamic to the meal. Did you eat with her in one arm?

Or more likely, did you eat standing while rocking her around on your free arm...?

Well, we still sorta celebrate Thanksgiving despite it passing a month earlier up here...but, an excuse to get-together and still reconfirm our Yankee roots -- that's all. Had ribeye...nothing bird.
