I think "fake it til you make it" makes it sound worse than it actually is. I agree sometimes you have to push through and make it seem like you're bigger than you actually are depending on your line of work. But as you said, $10M mansion with $1M of cars in the garage? yeahhh...
What I mean is for the people that make it work (faking it), it's all about networking. Maybe that 200k dollar car gets you invited into circles you otherwise wouldn't be a part of.. we're talking parties, outings, hey I have a business idea.. you want to join my team.. yada yada. Just like going to an ivy league school, you become part of certain circles.
I've seen inside some of those circles and it's a life you could only dream of. We could all be rich someday, but to have so much fuck off money that you don't even know what it's like to not have it or be concerned as to not make it, is something else. It's funny, because as much as we wish that for our kids, it's not how I think anyone should be raised. Privilege is bullshit.

Sort of my obsession about going to USC, to get "in" that circle.. The Trojan network is RIDICULOUS... Networking and the sort is pretty underestimated (especially outside of the business world). That's why I joined a co-ed business fraternity in college, it opened up a whole new world..
Your kids are lucky to have a father like you, Maj. The world needs more people like you to cultivate the future...
and fuck with the RLX crowd.

Ha talking about bumper... got on the ferry on saturday for the wedding, some guy parked too close to the guy in front of him... when the ferry stopped the car rocked and the guy in the back punched a hole in his bumper with the trailer hitch of the guy in front. good thing I was in my car cause it was audible chuckle.

I've always told the gf, even if we become filthy stinkin' rich, i'll never let my children see that. I've seen privileged children growing up and they always left a disdainful taste in my mouth. Call it jealousy, but those kids were douches till this very day. I definitely agree with you 150% on this front Maj.

I always laugh at all the international students who get into SC and rent out places in the hood.
Warren Buffett did it pretty well. He gave his kids all they needed in terms of support and education, but made sure they were on their own feet out there. I still think they seek / given a certain privilege though. But they're doing a lot better than the kids we've observed.. little bratty shits.
Thanks for the compliments

A gunshot to the head (or penis), jumping 10 stories, hanging yourself, bleeding out.. are much easier ways to go. Cyanide is basically drowning yourself, except worst. Your lungs, heart and brain are actively fighting to live, yet you've made the cell membranes incapable of following suit. It's a miserable way to die.
Not unless he's paid said debt.

Why would you want to conceal your suicide? No that wasn't his point, he left the sodium cyanide canisters in his car.
Surprised you didn't get shot foo!

Oh sorry... I didn't mean to allude that I actually went to USC.. but rather WANT to for my MBA... Around USC is pretty damn ghetto.. On that campus, you feel pretty damn safe though.
Yeah, I mean if Buffett is doing it, who's to question it I respect parents that give their kids enough to survive but also push them to be independent.

There's a website that estimates how much you need to save for your child's future.. I told the wife, I'll pay for a room and shin ramyun, but they can get a student loan like everyone else.
$600k.. are you crazy. And these 529s.. bleh. I'm just going to save said monies and strike when it's hot.

SC is good.. but if you're doing your MBA, might consider UCLA. I'm sure you value the Trojan network, but you might have bigger opportunities learning under some of the best business minds out there by going to a higher ranked MBA school. If you can get into Stanford or Berkeley, do it. Freaking billionaires teaching future billionaires. Regardless, you're going to spend 100-120k somewhere.

I think it's actually closer to 200K for USC..
Definitely gotta do more research and do the GMAT first and foremost... we'll see though.. Ideally, I'm looking for a company that will reimburse me tuition for going to MBA school
What's new?
"Mama, daddy, why don't you guys hug us like our white friends parents do?"
"Hug? whats that?! whips out feather duster "
Do you think he could have carried a revolver in court to shoot himself in the head right there and then? Would that have been better?
Either way, it's still expensive so make sure you have a rope ladder, scuba suit, and cyanide pills on hand
OOOH the Rope Ladder can double as a noose in case things go awry on the exit plan!

Freaking women drivers.. Apparently she ran red, stopped, hit reverse and tried to run a motherfucker over. Hmm.. did I hit something.. better floor just in case. Stupid fucking cunt!
I feel bad for the guy. Intersection wasn't terribly busy or anything, no reason she should have backed up in him.
At first I wondered why motodude didn't just hightail it out of there. I was all ready to bash him for sitting in neutral at a light, unprepared to react. But then I noticed that it looks like he popped the clutch and stalled it. Guess I can't blame him; I mean of all the things to be aware of at a red light, getting reversed over is probably only above zombie apocalypse.
At least the helmet cam should make it a slam dunk insurance case!
Oh, and gif derail! keep 'em coming. I love gif derails!
