As far as the protests go, I mean, its sad but not entirely unexpected. Honestly, its very simple - when cops will stop doing stupid ass shit like this, there will be significantly less chance of this kind of reaction. I doubt that will happen any time soon. I think the reality is the US will tear itself apart before that happens.

In not gonna get into it because it's not happening to me , so I can't say who is to blame. All I know is when I get stopped or detained, I do every thing the cop tells me to do. I don't fight back, I don't run. Hands visible, etc.


I grew up with canadiens and most of them are unruly. Very hostile people. A simple question will set them off.

Canada is not so much better. It is peaceful, I'll give you that, but in my humble opinion there's so much that's left to desire. Northern European countries such as Finland and Sweden have a good thing going on I think.

Its likely that its difficult for me to overcome my outlook on the matter when my few personal interactions with cops have all been decidedly unpleasant despite my utmost efforts to be as cooperative and civil as I could be. I am definitely far from unbiased in this case so take what I say with a grain of salt I guess

Regarding the comment about Canadians, we usually have the exact opposite reputation. Seen as very peaceful and welcoming people.

Hey you know if there's one thing I learned from working out it's not so much about the numbers or being better than others but being better than your past self and feeling good. You feel good about yourself and you're healthy? That's what really counts.

Lessening the drinking definitely helps. Alcohol slows down your metabolism and can contain a lot of carbs (beeeeeeer) so that's a surefire way to getting a bit of chub. If you're going to drink, go with spirits, and in moderation as always. If you use a mixer, take something with no sugar or as little as possible.

Same here. I'll get beat the fuck down if I ever say I'm fat. It's just that ring around the belly that all men get when they're getting to 30. If you want to lose that completely you have to eat much better since it's pretty much the first location where fat gets stored. Think 15% body fat and under. Not willing to put the effort necessary to get there.

Judging from those pics, I'd say I'm around 22%. But, I honestly have no idea.

Over 25% is believed to be obese, 18-24% is normal, 14-17% is fit under that is athlete. US average for men in their 30ies is ~25% and climbs to 29% in the 40ies.


Edit: Getting under 10% is incredibly difficult for little to no return too. Unless you're competing in body building, it's usually not a good thing to shoot for that since your diet is often compromised.
