I changed my mind, I went with some 3.7 heads.

oh, coming from several destroyed valves to a more free flowing and lighter heads will show a big improvement

I like reading what you guys do to your rides...but, I think that boat has long shipped for me. Unlikely I'll ever modify the MINI or the Infiniti.

Not to mention Justin you were the one that said 3.7 upgrade wasn't worth it...I guess it's the best bang for your buck if you're pulling it all apart. I'm with Anil on this one though...if you're not going to do the bare bones cheapest just to make the car driveable again, then spend the extra scratch and get all the ponies you possibly can out of the NA motor.

the 3.7 intake manifold* isnt worth the money since I got Anil's Smurf blue intake manifold...
this tho, 3.7 heads is definitely worth it.

Justin let his friend beat the shit out of his car and he over revved it.

Seriously though...maybe I keep a different sort of "friend"...but, what's with friends breaking each other's car stuff...esp. in this thread?!?
Is that a unique thing only isolated to you guys in this thread? Or is this something I'm too old to appreciate and is the thing now...like salad tossing or making pork patties while juggling...or whatever else is "in" these days?

<--- Still will NEVER understand how tossing vegetables in a bowl to eat equates to something sexy or whatever.

I will be honest, the 3.7 Mani and throttle body are $$$ and not worth the $$$ to gains ratio....I got them ported and polished too.....but if you want to get every HP that you can, then its a must as the gains are quite decent (again not worth the money but well)....
Justin I think what Jeremy was agreeing with was since you are out there and getting free-er flowing heads might as well cough up another some bucks and get them ported and polished and the maintenance work around it since we don't take the heads off the car everyday

Getting your salad tossed being the same as your vagina or asshole licked has been around since the Ancient Greeks.
I don't know, Yum...
How old are you?

as I did sway him from buying the 3.7 intake manifold.
the 3.7 heads however are well worth the 400 dollars and probably provide a better HP to dollar ratio than PCDs

^^^ aah OK...
Yes the 3.7 heads as I hear are the most free flowing and light...couple that will hollow and aggressive type s cams and you are in for a treat....
Make sure you hit up a dyno though...not for power but your Afr and timing...am sure then mods might throw it out of whack

I know the difference, but I did get confused on which we were talking about. Head is where the magic happens. Duh.
Also, speaking of AFR etc...I might be getting e-manage for the S2000. Tommy Salami pointed me at a guy that sells it with a tune for the 2004 that'll squeeze out as many ponies as possible without having to pay for a full tune and going on the crazy missions to ecu/sensor swap since hondata only works on 06+

Some cars get very very well adjusted to the mods on the car...hence I was telling Justin to dyno it....I would recommend you to do the same...
Hit up a dyno, see where the Afr and timing is...if at WOT the car is at very low timing and high Afr (lean), then a tune will benefit you a lot...if your Afr/timing are close to where the tune will bring it, then it will be a waste of money to venture in that direction...
Some cars gain a lot with a tune, some barely gain any...
Either way, if you do decide to get a tune, I would use that with a grain of salt ...use that as a base tune, get some dyno time and get it fine tuned to YOUR car....

Well, I agree, but from what I'm reading, the tune moves the torque down a bit so the car doesn't feel so not overpowered down low...supposedly fun driveability will go up oodles, which is what makes my pudding stiff. We'll see, Tommy seems to be of the mind that a standard tune will squeeze out enough and save a ton of money to not bother with dyno tuning. He seems to know his shit in reference to this car.
Or I'll do what I always do and leave well enough alone and drive the car as is.

on driving it as is, or doing it once and doing it right...
the whole move of the torque curve comes from more timing and more fuel (richer AFR)....if your timing at 3500 rpm on WOT is 20deg, and he is moving it to 22degs, you wont feel a difference and the power will be ever so slightly higher....
but if your timing now is at 5degs and afr is at 15.1 and he is going to move it to 22degs and 13.8, am sure you will feel a ton of power...
now if he knows a way to make more power from the motor other than the timing/afr combo, I say go for it....
but yes, getting a tune-able ECU is a great stepping stone for getting FI in the future....so if that is in your plans down the line, I say get the ECU....

on a different note, you dont need to dyno your car, you have TORQUE right? plug the bluetooth adapter in, configure torque for the S2000, enable logging and go for a spin....couple 50% throttle runs and couple WOT runs....make sure you stay at mid to high rpm for a bit....
check the logs for where your timing and AFR is....
with the TL I have seen that the AFR displayed by TORQUE (via bluetooth) and the AFR displayed on the gauge (via the sensor in exhaust) are pretty darn close...not sure how they are in the S though....

Hell yeah! Got my Honda CB550K from Milwaukee, finally! Got a bunch of riding gear. Got a bunch of good workouts in. Replaced the clutch MC (due to TSB), clutch SC (check valve delete) and installed SS clutch line on the TL. Clutch feels almost as good as having tossed salad for lunch. Alcohol was consumed. Friends. Cars. Bikes. Great weekend. How was everyone else's?

you sure as hell are correct....
I WONT....even though I want to, its not the right time....
the rear seats are non existent, cant even fit a rear facing child seat in there....if we could fit a child seat in the back, she would be sitting in the garage (after some negotiation though).....
they want 83,000 for a 2013 Premium with 15K miles on her....I told him, am not going to negotiate since I decided not to buy it but if I had to, I would start from 73-74K and stop at 76-77K out the door....
this is the image the Acura dealer sent me....his text read "I know you want it, come on over and we will sign the papers"

You're a baller...
I'd have to be very wealthy and have saved up a TON to ever consider purchasing a car for that much money.
