There was a time when I was sponsored by the local Yamaha Piano outfit.

And I did consider going to music school out East (i.e. Julliard, Eastman, and etc.)...but, tuition was too expensive even with some scholarships.


But, this is also a kid who was beat to practice regularly and by practice, that was often on the piano for 2.5 hours. Didn't have much of a "life" growing up between piano and required to get good grades in school.

I was paid for odd jobs when I was young. My first steady job was being a divemaster and boat crew (boats and hoes). I became a scuba instructor subsequently. I miss it. I could have made more money delivering pizzas, but I was doing what I loved and saw lots of skin and hot japanese tourists..

My brosef went on a dive and he was jonesing over a group of japanese girls. I teased him to say something / introduce himself (girls didn't speak ingrish). He just focused his anger at me for bullying him (so shy). So first dive, safety stop, make fun with girls (blow halo bubbles, etc). We ascent to surface, he climbs the ladder first, while we queue behind him. I decided to break the ice by pantsing the shit out of him showing his bare ass.. He jumped back into the water, his face was so red.

All the girls laughed.. he didn't get a date out of it but the ladies sat next to us and traded broken english with my broken japanese. Brosef learned breaking the ice by showing your bare white freckled ass is a lot more embarraSSing than saying ohio.. but just as effective.

tutoring couple kids from 17-20...kids were between 9 and 12 yrs old...I only handled Math/Science/History/Geography and my mom tutored them on English/Hindi/Marathi (local language)...


real first job in US was working at an India restaurant in NJ as a waiter...for 5 bucks and hr bro LOL....quit that in 2 weeks and started working in a Jewelry store in NYC....

dude used to give me $5/hr and no tips (ouch, self burn !!)

but i NEEDED that job...and when I took the job I thought to myself "tips are only gonna be like 20-30 bucks"....after my first day, I put over 200 bucks in tips in the jar and my 12 hour day yielded me only 60 bucks LOL


so I improvised....I went and got a roll of singles...if someone left me 5 bucks in tips, I swapped the 5 with a single....

end of the week, I had 180 bucks (three 12 hour days) and another 450 bucks in stolen/swapped tips

I only worked there for 3 weekends and made enough cash to hold me off for couple months
