Although, back in the day (early 2000s), network/system admins...were gods. We had total control of the server rooms and network security...everything.

Logs? Pfft...I monitored those logs.

So, did I have some shenanigans with say, a significant other in my office after-hours or in parts of the building where I knew I could not be caught...?

It's too bad network/system admins can't abuse powers like back then. I still remember fondly to tell the CEO to PFO that his Treo was not working was due to solar flares.

Another great one was when I told an annoying employee to open and close his CD tray 237 times (and not more) to unlock their account from the network.

I told him to call me when he was done to confirm. When I got the call about 90 minutes later, I went into the system console and unlocked the account.

I really need to get around to trying beluga caviar. Just want to know what's the big deal about it. Freaking expensive for a small jar though.

some have even tried to insert a CD disk in the floppy disk insert....might seem very obvious now, but back in 2001-2002 it was hysterical....

To be honest, the fact that I actually took apart computers (and broke them) as a kid and hacked games (to cheat and give myself infinite $$$$ or strength etc.) was probably the only saving aspect for my ability to find work when the IT market went belly-up in the early 2000s.

Cuz, seriously, with my MIS degree from school...at a time when the market was crap...there was NO WORK.

well I was in school back during the 2000 crisis but yes, I build my first computer in 2000....I also made money on the side by building/assembling computers for my neighbors/friends etc....

a friend wanted to install 5 computers at his Dad's work and setup a network, he got quotes for 6 different companies and I told him I would do it for less than half (including my profit) ...we installed and assembled the computer and installed Windows NT Server on 1 machine and Windows 2000 on the others, done in half a day...not a bad way to make money as a 16yr old

part of the reason I went to pursue computer science in school....I was more inclined towards the processors and the hardware side....but when I came to US, I found out that hardware was not as lucrative as software, so I ended up going to the software side since back in India (until bachelors) the hardware and software kinda have the same syllabus.....

i'll have to ask my friend what kind of fish eggs they were.
they had ordered it before I got to the restaurant.

Also, I went thrift store shopping on Sunday through the skreets of Htown.
Houston is sort of like New York where the food is awesome here.
well, my friend with the Regal GN needs to expand his horizons.....

instead of eating at some awesome restaurant, we ate at whataburger. FML.
