^^^

if you know the smell and taste of ingredients you know if you need more of something....the real chef skills come in when say your 'garden chilly pepper' ( ) is hotter than you though, so you have to add some ingredient to counter that flavor...

Well, Canada's "Independence Day" was Tuesday...so, we had that day off. Didn't do too much. Just visited family and then took it easy.

Friendly e-bet, Kumar...but, after your response to Maker in the CPotD thread, I am positive that my bestest e-GF will post pictures.

Probably furiously scouring the interweb for pics as we speak.

What will complete this prediction is if those pics are...reposts.

Although, Maker's Koenigsegg pic IS a repost. I'm just not going to do that to him. He doesn't take well to having that pointed out either.

You have any idea who I'm snarking about usually, dude?

Seriously, I thought it'd be pretty obvious.

Given how I get along with pretty much everyone...it should be pretty easy where the :ghey:-love is being directed to?

Cliquey? Hardly. They'd get the proverbial from me or other mods...Just don't act stupid. Car Talk does get the stupid on occasion...but, it's usually some fanboi touting how amazing the IS350 and etc.

And rules are simple for the internet and any forum. Feel like posting something relevant to the title? Go for it. Not a bad idea to check if it is a repost...but, if someone tells you it is a repost, shrug it off and no biggie.

Otherwise, PW away.

Maybe that's the problem. I make my own rules

Seriously though...I am getting that, didn't come naturally to me initially. Clickqyeyee in the sense that people that all know each other will only acknowledge what each other post and talk about a lot of random "inner circle" stuff...but I get it since now I have that with some of the members here myself.

5 years on here...where the heck does the time go?

EDIT, shoot, almost SIX

Ehhh...not...really.

Should not stop you from venturing into there. If you are talking about Automotive News...it's news. Who cares if some of the regulars are familiar with each other.

If you have something to say to something-related to the car model...shoot...go for it. Generally speaking though, you may be thinking about the Acura threads (i.e. RLX, TLX) threads where it seems to be the popular thing to "hate" on the car.

Generally speaking, you're entitled to your opinion and if you want to disagree or agree, no one will attack you so long as your comments are valid and logical. It becomes "stupid" when some zealot makes some broad-brush ridiculous comment.

In Car Talk...I see no "regulars" per se. Lots of people in and out of there. Variety of threads/topics...I don't see any cliqueyness there.

I'm not blaming the forum for my indignity, sir. I know I have a tendency to go off topic and make jokes and sometimes it's in a place where I'm not really familiar. This was early on but I think it just made me feel like I didn't want to even go into that area of the forum.

I'll give you an example...the bike thread, it's all pros in there that know a lot and have been on the forum for exactly 1000 years and all know each other and have inner jokes that I used to not really get. Little by little, over time, I have been able to chime in and recently I even get responses and interaction.

I guess in some areas of the forum, it's hard to tell if a new person coming in is interjecting or interrupt, or will be back to have an actual conversation or dialogue.

Once we all agreed that I'm the dumb rockstar, things got a lot better for me.

PS...is Majofo and Justin the same person? Maj posts, Justin is nowhere to be found and Vice Versa

At my level, I have no control of the Awards.

Maybe at the Admin/God level where Ron A resides...actually, what am I talking about. Ron A giveth and taketh all.

You could ask him...but, don't come complaining to me if you get smited.

I dont have any interest in going any further than that.

3.6, 3.7 builds are costly and labor intensive, I just want my damn car to not be on jackstands any more.

stop drinking and driving and you'll be good
that could be directed at you or the guy you let do it.

On the other hand, congrats, man...it's gonna be even better when you get it all together! Hopefully no spray paint to have to scrape off any of his parts.

HOLY HELL...
I can never remember if it was Mr Maker or Marco that sucks.

Ah. Well, the Bike thread is more an exception than the rule. Cyclists and bikers can be cliquey but that's based more on familiarity and how hardcore some of them are at in that hobby/sport.

Consider the photog threads. Heck, I usually venture in to observe but generally, won't say much unless the opportunity affords it. So, I'd say...use that strategy for those types of threads. But, everything else...meh, be yourself and joke away.

Acura TLX pricing/options finally released, and supposedly dealers have TLXes en route, ready for sale August 3.

https://acurazine.com/forums/5g-tlx-2015-2020-415/just-got-call-new-dealer-info-913755/

I'm hoping there's a wave of 3G TLs that get traded in.

yeah the built does get $$$

but while you are getting the heads done, get a 5 angle intake and 3 angle exhaust valve job, port and polish....and do add some Type S cams...I would say some regrind cams but not sure how much you drive your car and not many peeps have reported back on the reliability of those cams and they get a little expensive (700-ish for the heads as compared to 200 for some new Type S ones)

maybe fly deck the heads and upp the CR to 11.5:1 or 12:1

you will be in for a lot more power
