Alpine makes our Navi.
I had the disc read error message on every start up. It would not show me the map at all.
I was going to try cleaning the laser like the DIY thread.
I unplugged the battery, pulled the trunk liner and unscrewed the navi, I DID NOT unplug anything at this point. I realized the disc was still inside so I started the car and tried to eject, nothing. Navi doesn't have power now. WHAT THE HELL.
Now the screen tells me "Please Check Your Disc."
Can't check it if you won't spit it out!!
Needless to say I'm annoyed at the least. It wasn't a big deal because I could get to the Audio screen before, now I can't do shit.

^^^ you sure you didnt unplug anything???
go back and check your connectors and make sure they are plugged it....have you reset the ECU (just putting options)....also if you have a multi-meter check if the navi is getting voltage....

disconnect your battery for 10 minutes then try again... everytime something dumb happens electrically on this car, ive just disconnected the battery and then everything is fine. Try it and see what happens.
Also, i dont remember how it works, but the unit might pull ground from the brackets bolted to the trunk. put everything back to stock minus the trunk lining and disconnect battery for 10 mins and report back
