You know what.. it almost looks like it does feed into the side filter banjo fitting. Need another pic to confirm.

nah.. filling through the dipstick isn't bad at all. 1 qt would take only 1-2 minutes.. unless it's on the moon.

Thanks Anil. As you can see in my first pic, that hole is taken by a tube. Im not taking that apart due to not having the appropriate o-rings to put it back together properly. I filled through the dipstick tube.....wasnt much of a problem....long funnel + the wife's turkey baster....perfect. Doing the switches now.

switches before refill because you will loose a little bit of fluid from the switches....

and Majofo, my car has always been like that, not sure why or where that corrosion is coming from

Hardly any fluid loss from switches.. plus.. you're putting in more fluid than you drain so it equals out.

@Majofo
^^^ whatever happened to the precision???

also before measuring the fill using the dip stick, do go for a drive....switch into every gear, including reverse.....stay in every gear for around a minutes to get some new fluid in there.....

head home, park on a flat surface, check the fluid level...

Sheesh....you could at least text once in a while....

I feel good other than nagging pain in my neck. It seems better every day though.

First impressions on test drive....shuddered at first then slowly went away. Shifts are much more crisp, but that wasnt the complaint.....it was the torque converter lock up shudder.

gonna do at least two more drain/fills today. I need to go get an air filter, but the roads are icing up.

Look at this fluid!!!!

Too late baby!!! Second drain had a bit better coloring but not by much. One observation: refilling with DW1 is easier than the type f. The DW1 seems thinner believe it or not. It's cold in the shop too (middle of an ice storm).

Interesting Anil. Somehow I feel I've wasted money today now.

And Majofo. I missed your post earlier about the banjo fitting. Yes...the tube does go to it. The hose that comes out of the "drain plug" goes into it with a T fitting.

haha i feel the same way when doing more than 1 drain and refill on the tranny....hence I keep a slightly longer interval than 5 minutes

but yeah if you are getting shudder, then well, it might a good reason to do another drain and refill after a nice drive....

I took a 20 mile round trip to get an air filter...yes I live that far out in the sticks. It acted up a little again once warmed up only not near as noticeable. I immediately did a third drain and fill when I got home. The fluid is still crazy dirty..after the 3rd drain and fill and another test drive to full warm up I could only get it to act up once and it was so mild I thought I may have imagined it. I have enough fluid to do one more drain and fill. The fluid is still dirty, but it is improving performance wise and cleanliness wise.

Anil. I looked for lines to allow us to do the youtube flush.....didnt see any. Do our cars not have trans coolers?

Quick post from my cell:

Yes, a 3x3 is recommended ...always....to get most of the old fluid out and new fluid in....

I think when you start the car maybe the car pushes out the fluid from the torque converter.... hence flushing out all the old fluid while u fill in new fluid...

Think about it, the automatic transmission capacity is 7.8 qts but you have to do a 5x3 in order to have more than 90% new fluid.... someday i would like to follow the video and do a flush and use only 9-10 qts of fluid....

Wacky, damn man....wish the final drain and refill will solve everything....make sure you engage reverse more than once...

What fluid are you using? Still on Redline?

I never was on redline. Used 4 quarts of Valvoline Type F then 5 quarts of DW1. I still have 4 quarts of DW1 left. I may buy more DW1 when I pick up my ordered power steering o-rings.

I will spend some time in Alldata this evening to see if there is a way to do a thorough flush like the video.

you should have used Redline on just Honda....or Amsoil ATF (If I reckon right, IHC was on Amsoil ATF for a while before switching to Redline).....

either way keep us updated....

btw, we can do a flush like in the video...just find the hose with 2 banjo fittings as in this thread (the pic is missing but I think you get the idea)
