2007+ MERGED THREAD, SPECS ARE NOW ON PAGE 1, POST #1

AWD on the '07 TL is close to impossible.. there would be almost no reason for anyone to get an RL.. Even if if AWD was offered, the price of TL would be too high for me to even consider it.

I would pay $40,000+ for a 2007 Acura TL Type-S w/ SH-AWD. As long as the 2007 Acura TL is worth the $40,000+, I'd pay for it. Perceived value is everything when it comes to how much consumers will pay for something.

I did read pretty much all the 48 pages of mostly false, and misleading info, and enough is enough. Considering that the TL's don't change much between life cycles, the blurry picture from Motor Trend might have been the 2007 for all anyone knows. 05's don't differ much from 04's either.
I think most people come here to relax and have fun while they try to spot small clues about what the 2007 *might* be like. Also the "07" Motor Trend "specs" are not really identical to the 2004-2006 so it makes it hard to figure out how they might apply to a 2007. Yet some of those acceleration figures might be true. THAT's why I wondered about Motor Trend printing that, and it obviously went right over your head.
"Tlfun could you tell (or someone else in the forum) me : with my TL 2005 270 hp automatic..." Considering that the 2005 TL is 258 hp and not 270, maybe you should re-read the entire forum and learn a thing or two about not acting 14 when your 32. At least go back and re-read something on spelling and grammer before you preach to people. Actually I think a good suggestion is that you should read the ENTIRE internet before you come back and post again. That way you can say you read everything.

Or "spelling and grammar," perhaps.
Anyway, I really enjoy the back and forth, but believe that we all share a common interest in a great car.
Any possibility of a rear view camera? Many brands have it, and I believe that it would be a welcome addition...just my take.

Acura has a lot to lose with the 2007 Acura TL, so they better be smart about it. All of the Acura TL's competition is better in terms of features and quality for the 2007 make-year. So much for Acura leading the way with technology.

Thank you TL Fun... Of corse I agree! Sorry for my english: but I'm italian, and my grammar it's not so correct, I know. You are right about the 258hp 2005. You have to consider that my only source of informations about american cars here in Italy is the net. Nobody knows anithing about Acura in general, except for the Honda Legend (Acura RL).

I should have realized English wasn't your first language. I'm part Italian and I still can't speak another language. I know how hard it is to learn and respect that you can. So don't worry about it. I'm sure no one here minds anyway.. . Do they have Acura TL's dealers where you are? -- Hopefully we will all get to see 07 pictures soon, and no later than 3 weeks.

Not, unfortunately! In Italy sell Lexus (many) and Infiniti (a little bit). No Acura dealers.
The Acura TSX is sold in Europe as Honda Accord (did you know?) and has two versions: the 150 hp, and 190 hp (15 less than the last TSX). The american Honda Accord is not sold at all. The Toyota Camry too, it's not sold in Europe. I't easy to understand why: these cars are good and much more cheaper then the european Audi, Bmw or Mercedes. Consider that for a BMW 530i, full options, in Italy you have to pay something like 57.000€, it means about 73.000$...
For an Audi A6 3.2 quattro, about 55.000 €. The germans houses fears the concurrence of the japanees cars: the TOP version of the Accord (TSX) in Italy is sold for 35 000€ (45 000 $). It's creazy.
In september 2006 begins the selling of the Honda Legend for about 78000 $.
It's the same car as the RL (someone tell the the Honda Legend it's better built than the RL, someone not), with 295 hp. It means 2 years after the launch in USA of the RL.
I have got my TL by my friend in Altamonte Spring, Florida, the Duval dealer... I think that, at the moment, in Italy there are at least 5 or 6 owners of Acura TL.

Posting from the road...
Krio, your posts describe events from about 5 or 6 pages (or more) ago. Not trying to offend, just saying. To date, no one on the board has professed going to those events despite all our pleas.
Honda/Acura is famously tight-lipped about new models or refreshes and the consensus here is that we are awaiting the official announcement on 8/1 or therabouts.
Happy Sunday from Colorado, everyone!

Unless you guys are just enjoying creating more work for the mods on Sunday afternoon, you still seem confused about the use of the quote box.
If you use the quote button, it will put the whole post in a quote box automatically.
If you want to quote someone manually, you begin the quoted material with the switch that turns on the quote box. At the end of the quoted text, you end with the switch that turns it off. I will give it to you in reverse order or else it will put my example in a quote box and you won't see the "switches".
= terminates the quote box (the "off" switch)
= begins the quote box (the "on" switch)
x=the user name you are quoting.

Of course, they could release some kind of info prior to that, but since the dealers themselves aren't seeing the goods for another month, I doubt much if anything will be disclosed before then. They usually are among the first to preview the new stuff.

That's too bad there are no Acura dealers there. I never knew the TSX was sold in Europe as a Honda accord either. The prices are also pretty outrageous as you mention. The shipping must have been expensive from Florida.. Well I'd bet people always ask you about your car since they have probably never seen one. And it probably looks like an exotic (almost ;-) )..

2006 TL changes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since its groundbreaking redesign in 2004, the Acura TL has solidified its place as both the top selling Acura and best-selling luxury sedan in the country. The TL comes equipped with a 3.2-liter, VTEC V-6 engine, a drive-by-wire throttle system, and an available close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with limited slip differential. For 2006, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System is added to the TL’s already long list of standard safety features as are two new exterior colors.
* Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
* Revised engine management system and steering angle sensor logic help reduce torque steer
* New Colors:
o Royal Blue Pearl replaces Abyss Blue Pearl
o Alabaster Silver Metallic replaces Satin Silver Metallic
o Deep Green Pearl discontinued
New horsepower/torque ratings: 258 horsepower SAE net (Rev 8/04) at 6200 rpm, 233 lbs-ft. of torque SAE net (Rev 8/04) at 5000 rpm
Just when I get to thinking it's the 22nd, I start thinking it may be really soon, like any day. So who knows? It could be this upcomming week (or not LOL)

Mike_TX, which dealer in the DFW area told you that? I did ask the internet manager at Vandergriff Acura when he thought the 07 TL's were coming out, and he said September. He told me this sometime in early July, I believe.

The only thing I'm hoping for at this point is a press release, or info. I think the timing on that could be earlier than when a dealer sees the car in person. If it's like last year, then we can at least get to read the specs and make up our minds.
Then eventually we'll be able to see a real car in the showroom maybe in October or November. My dealership said October, but that doesn't mean anything..
