no worries.
it is not apparent how you change the fan control. there are two stages? which one is used? I guess I have to wait for the instructions/release notes... they may help...
(you will see what i mean after you download and look at Quick Adjustments).

My guess is stage 1 is a low speed fan and stage 2 would be full speed. That's what we had in corvettes but they had 2 fans so 1 fan came on on 1st level and both fans came on at 2nd level.

Another question on the VTEC, the numbers that we are looking at, is that factory setting or Ktuner adjusted numbers.

I don’t know that answer. I wish ktuner would share more info like that. Maybe I am missing something somewhere?

Anyone know if I can run the Ktuner software on PC without the actual hardware? The account sign-up seems to be mandatory, right?

No it won't Car must be in run position engine not running this sends power to the PCM. Turn off A/C, radio and headlights and anything else that might be running to save the battery during up loading.

(you willee what i mean after you download and look Quick Adjustments).
I have all adjusted down 6 degrees on all 4-
primary fan is just that- it comes on 1st
secondary comes on if primary can’t cool enough or automatically comes on if ac is used

that’s factory
it’s not necessary to adjust the vtec
it works differently than Vtecs of the past-unless you have a cat less downpipe and opened up the exhaust system there will be no real benefits

Anyone have ecu hardware that falls outside of the specified range on the KTuner website? I have an A78 while the website only lists support for A71 through A77.

good question for ktuner directly. let us know what they say.... they are supposed to keep up with the versions. Did you download the latest version (1.0.9.10)?

KTuner responded yesterday:
"It's the same series as supported, just a new number they've added."

Yes, I downloaded the KTuner software only yesterday and confirmed it's 1.0.9.10. Should've stated that this prompt came from the latest KTuner software version. Didn't have time to get around to flashing the OTS/base map.

Thought I was going to end up in the doghouse when my wife saw me trying to get answers on the ecu hardware version and started asking questions about what KTuner does. She was pissed that I hadn't consulted with her before buying it since she drives it most of the time, luckily she got over it quickly and put the car into Sport+ on the drive to the in-laws.

Acura will constantly add new ECU hardware numbers that we aren't aware of until we see. The software in most cases, and this case, is the same as the earlier ECUs. I'm very glad you checked, though. Most people don't!

I also wish they would update their release notes. It has been like a month that 1.0.9.10 has been out and no response on the notes (in ktune help). They have a couple more RDX Quick tweaks on there and would be nice to know about.

This version hasn't been pushed as an update.

Quick Adjustments are outlined in help already.

No, it hasn't been pushed as an update where users are notified an update is available.

That's not a quick adjustment (See quick adjustments section of parameters)

Anyone not get the pop-up to power down then back up to ACC after flashing? Entire process completes but I don't see the 2 pop-ups after the flash bar completes. Already emailed KTuner but doubt they're open today.

I've also never had that issue. Have you tried reflashing the unit or confirming which program is loaded?

I'm sure you got in touch, but for reference this would occur if you uploaded to a tuning slot instead of flashing direct to ECU.

Also, Happy New Year everyone.

I have asked them before on this and they replied that they use the latest ECU params to base their tune on.
it would be nice for them to state the underlining version, along with a date stamp on the release.

I just got the K-Tuner V2, the screen doesn't turn on when I start the car. I always have to unplug the unit and plug it back in to power it up. I was reading around and they stated something about activating the CAN Gateway? I'm currently running 1.0.18. How do I activate the CAN Gateway?

Good Morning everyone. I have read about the christmas tree lighting up in the ktuner forums but no anecdotal replies have been for the rdx. I tried flashing stage 2 last night. Runs great! but all my warning lights are on. I can't change driving modes either (stuck in sport). Any advice? Did I do something wrong? I read in the ktuner forums that I might have to drive for a bit for the car to recalibrate. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you for your help. -RC

That is the way it works. Drive 1 mile and they all go away.

True: after a couple of engine restarts, the warning lights will go away. It freaked me out the first time it happened to me with my successful reprogram but no idea this would happen….you guys have it so much better now with all of us sharing the major mistakes, rookie mistakes, and just plain OOPS mistakes. This set of forums is one of the best I have ever seen…..and worked with. There is no “core group” of snooty experts here who look down on “newbies”. I was in one of those when I owned a really nice little Mazdaspeed 3. Thankfully there was another forum that was much more welcoming and willing to share what they knew. I’ve experienced this group that way.

Oh goodness, look at what I wrote! Way too much, but that is how I feel. Enjoy and God Bless you!

Thank you, Padre Dave, for this and your other contributions (I've been a lurker for some time)
I have read about that but seemed to take longer than the anecdotal advice. Flashed Sunday night. Drove around the block a few times. Turned engine on and off at least 3 times. Woke up for work Monday morning; lights still on and could not switch mode selector. Drove 25 miles to work. When I got back in to go home, everything was clear. Comfort mode feels like butter. Was just worried since it seemed to be taking longer than everyone else.

Safe travels, everyone

wow, have not heard that issue. You should call ktuner and get their opinion.
