Replaced the inner cv boot last night and damn what a pain. A few tips, make sure you have spare bands. I broke a small on and a big one trying to do it the first time. Make sure you have a banding tool. Not sure how it would have been possible with out one. A pulley would have been the best way to go to get the part off but it's doable with out one.
All in all so far so good, figures crosses it stays this way !

I guess it's safe to say you're not in a rush to sell

You wouldn't happen to have the SE interior items anymore would you? Headliner, etc.

i have some items that will go with car if deal is private. if i trade it all that stuff will be for sale. weathertech, custom sunshade, splash guards.

Does anyone know what Acura ends up replacing? Pistion rings? Seals? Head and valve gaskets? Acura 5w20 juice?

Sounds like we get a minor engine rebuild with this.

It's not a recall it's an extended warranty on the rings and Pistons only.. Mine burns less than a quart every 3000 miles and is modded to hell so I doubt they would do anything if I took my car..
Yeah tell me about it. I put a oil catch can on it and it home dry, going to run one off the valve cover and see if it catches and oil. If not I will probably take the S/C off and take it in for the ring replacement. But I have yet to receive any notices of the extended warranty.
Pulled off my bumper and found a bit of a surprise. This is NOT from when i got rear ended, I bought the car like this unknowingly
Perfect example of why CarFax is 100% useless BS.

Anyways new bumper is on now, looks sick. gonna take some pics.
The thing barely fit in my van lol, idk how XTC got his home inside his TSX.
But, wtf are these black things for?

I'll be
and point out that the black things are brackets.Just guessing but the square holes look like they would receive the little yellowish circular plastic parts in the other baggie. And the self tappers would screw into those plastic bits.
If you can figure out what the screws are supposed be mounted in on the bumper, then you might figure out where the brackets would go on the car.
I'm again going to make a guess and say they attach on the bottom lip of the bumper. But that's just a wild guess.

Sucks to hear iCrap, but it's awesome that your bumper came! The install instructions tell you what the brackets are for. I can't really recall right now what it connects to, but the PDF has it.

edit:
The instructions: http://acura.bernardiparts.com/Image...r_BII39070.pdf
The brackets attach to the bottom of the bumper (close to where the wheel wells would start), and you screw it onto an existing plastic piece. The base bumper didn't have this, and you'll notice when doing this part (if you choose to do it) that the modulo rear actually sits quite a bit lower than the base rear. So with that being said, be careful when backing into a parking spot! My car never goes over the curb/step, including muffler tips.

So how many of us follow the maintenance minder for oil changes? It's a great internal debate for myself.

I just rolled down to 50% at 4900 miles. All previous oil changes I only let myself go no more than 7k then changed it.

I'm a bit old school and start getting the itch to change around 3000, but with my latest round of vehicles, I've had to grit my teeth and hold out. Even still, 6000 is about my comfort threshold, for better or worse.
I think the last time around I hit 5000 right about 10% on the minder so I did the change then.
I guess I sort of look at the minder as a second opinion, for when I'm ready to change around 4500-6000. If it still shows life then I relax a little. But around 10-20%, I start planning a change.

I'm like 95% in town, stoplight traffic and I'm pretty sure was at 10% / 5000 miles.
Or you drive like a granny and I spend most my time in VTEC-yo; living my life 1/4 mile at a time, because for those 18 or 19 second I'm free.

Most of my daily commute is 15 miles in town. Once a week I'll go 40-50 ish miles highway, but I don't ever go past 4k rpms. I hit vtec about 2/week when I get on the on ramp to the highway. That's about it.

Scared of oil consumption. I have the notorious 09 w/ 6spd.
