2G TSX Chat, Chit, and General Info Thread
So what happens if you told them you aren't happy with that offer?
TSX was totalled. Two brown guys with totalled TSXs in this thread.
I really wanted to replace it with a 2014. Found a nice one with only 5k miles too, but pops wanted brand new so Accord Sport it was. No nav, passenger seat isn't power, no seat memory, no moonroof, 189hp vs 201 luls, hell not even a built in garage remote in the sport.

I found the fully optioned Accord Sport has a whole slew of attractive features no? I guess it gets too expensive when you add them all up.
the new accord is nice but it's a really boring drive.
I don't get the accord sport though, it has no features (and a cvt). Nothing sporty about it.
There was 75k on it. Their offer was $500 more than the most expensive one i found for sale within 100 miles.
also submitted them the recipts for sway bar and bumper so they might even add some more to it.

Damn, you got a solid deal. There's no way it would sell for that much. How many miles did you have?
So what happens if you told them you aren't happy with that offer?
Too many Accords everywhere you go. I personally wouldn't really care about the new vs used debate. I'd go with the better car most of the time. That seems like a lot of downgrades. Does the Sport have leather?

How were those powerstop brakes you had, compared to the OEMs? And yeah you should definitely try to bitch at them to compensate you for it, you have nothing to lose. Especially since you just added the rear bumper.
It has leather surrounds and cloth center portions. Pops is one of those buy new and keep it forever kinda guys. The new "loaded" Accord is the Touring model and it's msrp is 35k. It's got mostly the same features as the tsx + everything that comes on the sport package (which is just 19s and side skirts as far as I can tell.)
You have to get the next model up for more features. There's the LX, Sport EX, EX-L, then Touring.

6MT or AutoTragiCVT.
I drove one w/ the CVT when I was shopping for cars (they didn't have the MT on the front of lot yet and I just wanted to get a feel for the chassis/engine).
It made me floppy for weeks afterwords with how terrible it was. And I couldn't take enough showers and I couldn't get the water hot enough to wash off how icky I felt from the CVT.
Just bad.

Hey guys I'm at 97k.....and climbing. Anyone have a list of service that needs to be completed @ 100k? Looking at buying everything now so I can start looking for a reasonably priced Tech....
Off the top of my head, I would do all fluids and filters, check suspension and bushings, spark plugs, valve adjustment if there's chatter, drive belt if its never been changed out, grease all hinges and sunroof tracks, inspect/inflate spare tire. All the usual wearables and consumables.
Check the maintenance manual if you have one in the glove box. I write all my services down in there and it usually guides you along with the mileage.

Timing chain and tensioner are under covers. Going to be a lot of work just to inspect them. You measure the slack in the chain to see if it's out of tolerance. They shouldn't be going bad at 97k under normal usage tho.
Water pump has no tell tale sign to indicate it's almost done for. Just goes when it pleases. I wouldn't change it as a preventative measure tho. They are pretty stout. If anything, the pulley goes out.
100k is still pretty low on these motors if good preventative maintenance was done over it's previous life.
Try googling to see what the 1st gen or accords are doing at 100k. We have similar motors.

But I guess it looks cooler than just having your phone up there................?
Starting to get some gremlins in the TSX. On Monday, started the car and the ABS, VSA, and TCS lights were on. I restarted the car and the lights went away.
Today, the car is acting like it having a hard time starting. It will crank once, pause, and then crank to start. [I have the "one touch" start feature.]

So they saw this
and thought the car had backup camera option, credited $250
also credited $500 for "memory seat upgrade"
memory seats are standard on a TSX.
Fucking. Lol.

Test drove the RC 350 F-sport and RC-F earlier today. Both are great cars. The 350-F didn't really seem any more peppier than my v6 tsx though. The dash area and cluster are beautiful. The RC-F was a beast, when it got to the higher RPMs it roared.
Still happy with my tsx these days.

Anyone know if there is a website that sells recut red vinyl for the "pink" part of the tail lights (for 2011+ TSX)? I want to "red" out the corner lol still don't understand why they decided to not keep the tail lights white like the 2009-2010s.
I tried to DIY with a large piece of red vinyl but failed miserably haha
