2G TSX Chat, Chit, and General Info Thread
So I was bored and was looking at G37's for sale and I saw this 2011 G37S coupe fully loaded with 44k on it for $18,469, which I was like damn, I need to go trade my car in right now for this. 2 days later they changed the price to $23,943. Fucking dealerships
. I'm guessing the $18,469 was the trade in price.

Did you get yours in 2013? I just like looking at cars for sale, it's a bad habit of mine lol. I'm stuck with my TSX as well, but it's still fun to consider the possibilities haha.
And I saw this G37 IPL, holy sex.

and omg that G is the sex.
I wanted a G35 or G37 so bad but my dad refused to even let me test drive one. At one point he was close to giving me his G37 and getting a new car for himself but decided he didn't want me having it cause i would "get into trouble with it"
I think i got mine in 2013 yeah.. probably about the time my join date is. I paid 21k for it and I think it's worth like under 15 now.

The guy detailing it should have gotten it out, no? If he couldn't, might be too deep. Also depends on what kind of products he used.
my dad was fine w/ coupe but i decided i didn't want one
$240k. I was renting down the street in this neighborhood before and it's a fantastic location. Every other house in this neighborhood is between 300k-400k. If you go 1-2 miles closer to downtown they are 500k-700k so that wasn't an option. It needs a few things but is still very livable.
~15 min from downtown.

Sounds expensive to me haha
But then again.. OH isn't the most desirable location to live haha. My buddy at work just got a 2 story house with 3 bed 2.5 bath, full size basement and 2.5 acres for $220k... Now thats a damn good deal, albeit 35min from the city.

I won't argue that this is expensive for what you get. However I was willing to pay more for a house in a great location with a very reasonable commute. I absolutely HATE spending time in rush hour traffic. I don't need a huge house for my needs, and I'll be renting out my other two rooms which will cover very close to all of my mortgage payments.
It's all about location. Like I said, about 700k for a place like that in Toronto, and the drive would be hour-long rush hour traffic 5-6 days a week. It's awesome you got a place for a bit over 200k!
I hate the commute a whole lot too, so I've been looking for 2BR condos in DT Toronto. That's gonna set me back over 400k... for 750 sqft of "land"

My girlfriend and I are in a pretty serious relationship as well. We've talked about engagement/marriage/etc., but (in no offense to her), I feel like a house and living together for a bit should come first. Not to test things out or anything, but I feel it's a good time, especially since the Canadian dollar went to crap and the prime lending rate has gone down making mortgages a tad easier.
But still, a place would still cost me ~$400k if I wanna live DT and have a place that isn't as small as a bachelor pad. Engagement ring, wedding, etc would have to wait a bit
And yeah it's not just Canada in particular. Just that I live in Toronto, which is probably the most expensive city to live in in Canada second to Vancouver, BC.

Weddings are expensive, rings are expensive... everything is expensive haha I know my wife and I chose not to live with each other for religious beliefs, as well as respecting our parents wishes (maybe more the second one haha). It was important for us to keep our parents happy before we tied the knot; although living states apart while she was still in school made it a little easier lol. I'd say if both of yall are ok with moving in together, and it makes sense financially, then go for it. Especially if you're not trying to do the whole "trial thing".. those always seem to end badly haha.
My wife is an environmental engineer, and hasn't been able to find a job here in Ohio yet :/ it's been 8 months since she graduated and nothing... I feel a little bad cause we moved out here for my job, and now she is struggling to find something. Signing another year of apartment lease is hard to swallow when you have high hopes for a house in the future.

. But yeah if she could land a job, it'd be a huge help financially. She'd likely make more money than I currently do hahaBut yeah life is expensive LOL. We're pretty serious about everything, but we have some pretty expensive tastes... so it's gonna be hard holding back if/when we move out to a place together and I'm gonna have to start paying off my mortgage/more bills/more taxes/furniture/etc.
Growing up sucks, all I can say is if you get married get a prenuptial ! Why loose your stuff you earned before you got married ? Buying a house and having a Morgage sucks, I love having my own house but it a huge chunk of money that is gone.
Don't do anything unless you really think about it and don't do it because you family and friends believe it's the right thing to do.
And finally probably the most important thing is don't have a child unless you know you really really want one. You will have your ass handed to you if the marriage or relationship does not work.
American Dream of buying a house, getting married and having a child is not what it used to be. And for those that are thinking about getting married you better live with that person for at least a couple of years or more so you can really get to know how they are to live with. Once you say I do it's suppose to be fore ever and sometime people say they live and do something's and once your married that is not the case.
End earlier morning rant
