There is no indication that the tubing is restricting airflow, or collapsing. I never felt the need to "upgrade". I think I would only buy an instake if I were to increase my TB too.

I can't tell either.. need more angles. Chrome or blacked out... both work for me. Depends on the look you're going for I guess. Want a bit of bling? Keep the chrome. Want a more subtle look, go for black. Either way... should look better than the beak

Who got Windows 10?

 

My machine was supposed to update today but I'm holding off a couple weeks. I'm right in the middle of a project and can't afford the risk of something getting cocked up. Not like that would happen

So I guess this was a pretty worthless response!

 

Although, one of the gizmodo guys has the same rig (xps 13) and he sounded less than thrilled, so I'm not in a huge hurry either.

 

Eh, I say we let iCrap be the test dummy. I'm a little skeptical as to if I'll like it also.

 

And askVG, is there a way to “downgrade?”

 

lol i knew somebody would ask about that.

- I installed win10 on my laptop... its pretty good. I hate the start menu but you can change that with classic shell. If you were on win8 you should upgrade, if you were on 7 and you like 7 then don't upgrade.
- No way to downgrade other than reinstalling win7 / 8 (wiping hdd)

 

Win 7 for lyfe.

 

Of course, when I booted up to work on some stuff this evening, it started downloading.



So it looks like I'm backing up my files while it downloads, letting it do it's thing, and hopefully have a usable machine tomorrow morning.

Yeah the UI is way better. I upgraded 3 of my pcs so far but not my main desktop... I wanna make sure i actually like it before i change it over.

To be fair, I develop my own iOS apps and at work I develop and deploy mainly on Fedora (RedHat) environments. I have a soft spot for the Mac since it's UNIX based, but with a pretty face lol. I do like the keyboard and trackpad a lot, and the construction of the laptop is of very high quality.

It said WIN10 wasnt ready for me yet!

Took me 18hrs to wipe 2T HDD lol. I was able to clone my HDD to my SSD before hand. Now Im working at transfering all my files back to my HDD.

Win10 gave me an excuse to finally get my SSD rigged up, and just that upgrade alone was worth it!

 

Yeah. If you zoom in you can see it's cut from behind. Looks like a very shitty cut job, too. Not to mention I don't even think they used filler around the base because you can kind of still see gaps. SO fucking mad.

I texted him and asked if it was cut, he said > "Yeah I cut it and molded the backing plate for the A into the grille. Some custom sh*t you'll see."

Cool. Some custom shit I didn't want. The cuts behind the A are not even symmetrical.

So I replied > "Better be the best custom sh*t I've ever seen in person because it's not what I wanted. You bitch."




Well I didn't say that last part, but I thought it.

i was excited to install win10 yesterday....only to find out my vid card isnt good enuff.

 

Crap. I hope my laptop can upgrade. Guess I'll find out after work.

Do you know if other software programs will be affected? I have a few "not registered" programs.

im not complaining tho, some one gave me a dell i7 with 4 gigs of ram for free.99
and my vid card was the only thing win10 said was incompatible.

win7 is still pretty good.

 

I'm still running Win7 too. Didn't take the bait for the free upgrades to 8 and 8.1.

10 has had good reviews so far, and supposedly the last "new" OS for Windows. They have said they are going the Apple route and just release new patches instead of new OS systems here on out. The only thing holding me back is the question of losing my programs.
