customized fender flares.......

Hey man, ya definitely got your work cut out for yourself on this project. Two door coupes give a bit more forgiveness by their rear quarter design. Our sedan's rear door and skinny ass dog leg will interfere with a smooth transition, IMO. Also, the rear bumper will cut ya short on the flare's rear side.

Or....are ya just looking to do only the topmost part of the wheelwell's opening arch ? Looks like a lot of time and effort for an extra inch or two of clearance on the top.

It will extend into the door, the door will aslo have a flare to meet up, and the rear bumper. The rear bumper will have to be modified and plastic welded so that it all flows.

Mileage, body has a little over 600k, new motor has about 2500 miles. Thing is an animal.

As for updated pics of the car, nothing is new yet, but once i start the body makeover ill post pics along the way.

not completely but it will still be a lot of unknown, ill be cutting the rear quarter and front fender horizontally near where they meet the bumpers to pull them out further to get everything to flow more

The original RL's with all wheel drive were supposed to be Acura's top dog,
but....perhaps the upcoming TLX will come through with something decent ?

Just around the corner, anyday....week,month....next year, ah....maybe !!!

One can only hope that Honda is starting to realize that the other manufacturer's are very competitive...... along with the fact that their new RLS model could've been much better.

I passed on a 2010 TL SH-AWD and I'm kicking myself in the ass now

That thing was sold the next day and I have not been able to find another one. I almost settled for a 2012 TSX SE 6MT, but my wife convinced me that we are settling

~ Bet ya thought about it enough, to know just how difficult a project it would've been in reality, huh ?

But, it's the thought that counted !!!

No, I dont think it would have been that hard. It was the question of spending the money with a kid on the way.

Well if you were AWD, you could scrap the fender project and keep the 245 tires! Tell your wife you're SAVING money by doing it in the long run.

Fsttyms1 has his plate full with balancing family vs: car !!!

Been there a few (many) years back, while ya don't want to intentionally deprive your family....there are times that the therapy of having a project in the garage is beneficial to guys. Trust me, at least the wife knows where you're at. Ha, hah !

More than likely, the AWD conversion will happen when the time is right !!!

No, i would still want 275s. My car has always been setup to go around corners fast, not in a straight line fast.

That is why my garage is heated and cooled with a refrigerator and a TV with surround sound and a stereo.

At this point probably not. I spent the money on a new motor instead of a new car payment to get me thru (hopefully) 2 more years and both kids out of daycare. I pay more for that than i do on either of my mortgages Then..............

When's the last time you went into the actual house? 2008?

That sounds like a dream...recently moved from a 1 car garage town house to 3 car garage home. I am very happy too.

Have been doing the same with my car. Except for the brakes, rotors, front lip and air filter everything is original.

To do what other members do by super moding there cars is extraordinary.

Every morning after the wife leaves for work I kid id kid.... Only thing im really missing is a hoist. Once the kids are out of day care i can start building my new house which will have enough garage space and height for a hoist.

Its amazing how nice garage space makes things much nicer and easier to work on.

I wanna see a shot from the rear, straight on....please !
Lookin' good so far....I know you're going to wrap it around the rear of the quarter to make it all look naturally flowing. Sorta, like a factory style 10+ year belated update feature !

So, when are ya cutting the rear quarters for the flares ?
Been a long ole hard cold winter, I realize ya don't need to do that project until the spring thaw and putting on the wide ones !!!
