That trim will have to be covered in vinyl or something. The rubber is molded to it and no way to take it off, but i do plan on covering it. I dislike chrome.
If I remember correctly when I plastidipped the chrome trim on my TL it was really easy to get a good clean tape line at the edge of the rubber. Maybe you should consider just painting it, I think it would be less of a challenge compared to vinyl:

Problem is is for paint to stick you have to sand and etch chrome at min for paint to stick. Simply painting over whats there the paint will just peal off.
This is really a whole lot of build up to leave us hanging like this. How goes the reconstruction?
I know you had the trans out a while ago, did you pull the motor as well when you did paint? Or is this color close enough to factory to not matter much.?

Nothing new to add really. Just wetsanding and polishing.
No, as mentioned a page or so back, when i pull the motor to mockup and fit the long tube headers ill clean it up and spray it. The only part that really needs it is the shock tower areas as the tops of the frame rails and radiator support have been sprayed
Not completely complete, still some minor details (paint part of the rear diffuser a different color) and grille to finish and some final buffing but here are some of it in the wild
I'm not gonna lie, I normally hate anything like this that looks like molded wings west body kits etc...
but holy fuck, man...you did it so well, and so custom (don't take the WW thing as knock, referring to lesser builds) I love it. I'd actually stare at your car and wonder if there was some crazy model that Acura had that I totally missed.
Love love love and you put that idea into a work of art flawlessly. Bravo, man.
Nimrod (/ˈnɪm.rɒd/;[1] Hebrew), king of Shinar, was, according to the Book of Genesis and Books of Chronicles, the son of Cush, the great-grandson of Noah. He is depicted in the Bible as mighty in the earth and a mighty hunter before the Lord.
Genesis 10:8-10 Cush became the father of Nimrod, who was the first to become a mighty warrior on earth. He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of the Lord; hence the saying, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in the eyes of the Lord.” His kingdom originated in Babylon, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.

Kris; truly sorry to see that. Between this and your knife edge crank getting bounced around, it seems that you can't catch a break. I don't think I've ever run into a spun bearing along with the piston skirt damage you've got. Any ideas?
