There is a major difference. It is still pretty damn fast (with the CAI, headers, spacers, high flow cat), but you can sure feel VTEC not kicking in.

This is good motivation!

Man looking at your pics got me soo amped! I can't wait to get my 6sp swap underway. I'm still trying to find a manual tranny and engine wiring harness. I got the CLS 6sp Engine sitting on my porch waiting to get put into the car. Also looking at your car reminds me soo much of me cuz I got my tails blacked out just like yours. I'm definately looking forward to it!!!!

Congrats man it must feel great. Too bad they didn't offer a 6-speed manual in the first place on 2Gs, they look better than 3G TLs.

I haven't tricked the ECU everything just bolts up and works, just not to it's full potential.

You do have to save this little thing from the automatic transmission. It it the thing that tells the ECU which gear it is in. The ECU needs to read park or neutral for the car to be able to start.

Once again congrats on a great conversion but just wondering how many miles are on the car and how many where on the tranny when it died?

I can take a picture if you want. It's on the driver's side of the trans. Make sure before you start disconnecting everything to put the car in either neutral or park otherwise you will have to manually switch it with the little box I'm talking about.

????

But isn't that the whole point of 'ricing out the car'? To get attention that you have a really fast car? Because we drive a 4-door sedan, by definition, it's more or less a 'sleeper' car since it's a normally aspirated V6 and can't fit really big rims without modification. And I really don't like to see someone trying to 'rice out' a TL, either ...

Going back on topic ... I'm glad to see all the work you've got done so far, Steve!

Isnt that what ricers do? Take shitty little CRX's boost them, and then scratch their heads cuz all their car can really do is burnouts.

Don't mind everyone else.

I have good news for you.. went over to the AV6 forums... joe's got the speedo working and bumped up the rev limit again. He's got v-tec kicking in but it's still capped off. I'd post a link here but for some reason, this sight doesn't let you link to other forums.

There's a good possibility we may not have to spend $700 for a harness.

Just do a search for "Good news for the 6MT's" or just go to the performance section, you'll see it there. Can't wait to get my speedo working again. Way too many tickets. lol

Nice work I'll get in contact with Joe about that but I know he's probably taking care of shit since he just got back into town.

EDIT: It won't let you post the links because most of the people that get banned here go over there so they have it programmed to not let you link to that site.

He's also got a vid up. Hopefully they'll find a way to crack the J32a1 ecu.

He's running the TL-S motor and ECU, not CL-S.

Like kris said, he's got the auto TL-S engine and ECU with the CL-S 6 speed tranny. He's working on a harness that'll let you use your current engine or newer engine and keep the auto ecu without having to shell out money for all the extra sensors and wiring. Basically, imagine making a harness that'll be plug and play everything you have already with the swapped tranny. Vtec, reverse lockout, no CELs, etc.

What would you do...

a. spend $1k in parts extra for a complete CL-S swap
b. spend $700 on a custom harness
c. just spend a few bucks just following what joe's making to mate all the sensors from the CL-S tranny to the rest of your auto setup?

I rest my case.

Here's the switch Joe needs from your auto trans. The bottom part is bolted to the trans and it connects to the engine wiring harness. The little indented circle is where you have to manually adjust the gear.
