no harness? will emanage control the speedo too? maybe you can send me some wiring diagrams and i can come up with a harness...it doesnt seem too complicated..the signals are all electrical, should be more about making an adapter if anything

I will still have the harness to get the speedo working and everything. That also gets the redline where it should be. We can get the VTEC working with the custom harness, but it will need a bunch of different microcontrollers and crazy wiring for it to work. This way, we just get the speedo and instrument panel working right and control VTEC through EMANAGE. I will also get tunability with the EMANAGE.

Here's a quote explaining further...

Alright just checked with e-manage... I figured out how to force the car to go into v-tec and still have your speedo and everything else working without the need for microcontollers and so on. I'll be making another harness in a few with this harness (removing the controller)that chief had in there originally and test that on my car as well as Kris' (99MBPTL):

Basically, here's how it goes... for e-manage, although you have the regular harnesses that run to it, you can actually manually engage vtec through wiring up the solonoid that controls the high-lift lobes to the emanage's subinjector harness. In this way, in the subinjector map (usually an option, not needed for our FI setups; only the "additional injection map" is used); the subinjector map's values would trigger the solenoid to lift the lobes and make vtec possible. Once this happens, the values from the additional injection map will compensate fuel for the sudden volume of air to avoid leaning out.

Well, these freaking idiots at Honda can't figure this part out. The guy at Acura Carland said I need to take a picture of the different parts to actually show them what part I need. What is so hard to understand about me wanting the bolt (part #13) pictured below?

Here's an e-mail I just sent to Paul at Acura Carland which he is supposed to forward to the main Honda warehouse. Below the e-mail is the picture I sent them and was referring to in the e-mail.

Damn I kept meaning to tell you if you are using the CL-S ECU and harness and need the clutch switches to let me know. Since I have the TL-P ECU I won't be needed them and can't return them since it's been so long since I bought them. If you need them and can still return yours make me a reasonable offer and they're yours.

I'm amazed and at a loss for words to describe this project. lol

Congrats to you guys though for all the hard work and effort.

Unfortunately, my auto trans went out just last week and now is at the Acura dealer. Awaiting Acura Care to call the dealer back to see how much they can help me.

If this shit happens to me again, I'm going 6sp. lol

Well I finally went and got my codes read and am throwing a few extra than normal. Can anyone shed some light on the first three? I am working on getting a new throttle body to take care of the TPS and IACV.

P0123 - Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input
A P0123 code means that the the car's computer has detected that the TPS (throttle position sensor) is reporting too high a voltage.

P1106 - BARO Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Malfunction
That is the general code but it also said Dual Alternator Lower Fault

P1519 - IAC Valve Circuit Failure
That is the general code but it also said IMRC Stuck closed

TRANS CODES
P1753 - Automatic Transaxle
Also said Max Adapt Electric Control Pressure 2nd gear

P0753 - Shift Solenoid A Electrical

P0763 - Shift Solenoid C Electrical

Or do you need a different one?

Well, I went there and the throttle bodies didn't match up so we took the TPS off of his and he adjusted it and everything so the voltage was where it was supposed to be. The sensor on the IACV had really small screws in it that weren't really holding it on that well, so we put some new screw in that as well so it is held on a lot better.

He has a scanner and cleared the codes and they all went away except the shift solenoid A. He kept the scanner plugged in and we went for a drive and after about 4-5 miles (with a few hard runs) only the one code remained. The other two trans codes will probably end up coming back after a little like they always do.

Here's his 240 with my TL in the background. Man this thing is fast.

I know, I know.. dirty as hell

We also rode around his neighborhood on a couple pocket bikes that he had there

Well, I decided to take off the IM again and clean out the EGR port again and there was some solid shit in there (IM). It was built up right around where the fuel line comes in (I think it's the fuel line.. if you're looking at the car from the front it is on the left side in the back) and the vac line in the rear on the right side (next to the two smaller vac lines). I'm working on getting the pics up, but this shit was thick little chunks of debris. Any idea on what it could be and how it is forming? Like I said, it looks like it's coming in from the fuel line.

If i were to find a '03 CL-S for cheap, would the only thing i need to buy be Richie's module?

I've been thinking about doing the swap on my car for a long time now, and I think I'm going to start working on my dad..

Richie's module still hasn't been proven on a 2nd Gen TL (or any TL for that matter) AFAIK. He has several 6th Gen Accords running the harness, but no TLs yet. The ECUs are pinned pretty close, but are different.

Kris, I think you need to put the tint back on your taillights or but some 02-03 lights. Your car looks very cool, just the orange needs to die.

Damn dude. That is some nasty shit.

Let me know if you need an IM or anything too. I have a motor to spare parts off of.

I'm planning to Port and Polish my old heads, IM, and runners.

If you want it, I can do it and it might give you some better breathing.

Fuel lines dont go into the IM, they go to the fuel injectors.(though i dont knwo whats attached to the 99 im on that side. Carbon deposits. Probably from not running right.

I don't think it's the intake manifold. Like I said, I cleaned it out not too long ago and the stuff was building up right where lines were coming in.

I just said fuel because it smells like fuel when you unhook that line (more than it smells when you take off other lines)... and more carbon deposits from running in limp?

Can work for both. I actually didn't use Richie's Harness since he hasn't even made one for us yet. He's in the process though.

My friend and I got rid of the CELS ourselves...the only thing we are trying to get to work is speedometer and VTEC.

That's what we are working on now.

most likely. Thats part fuel part egr mixture. Thats the stuff that plugs the ports. (though regular seafoaming will help take care of that.

How do you recommend cleaning the part of the EGR port that goes down into the motor itself? When I take off the intake manifold and clean it out there, it also seems like I should be cleaning where the exhaust gas is coming from before being recirculated into the intake manifold. I just don't want to do it with a paper clip/coat hanger or something and have that gunk fall down into the motor. Maybe hold the tube of a Shop Vac right above the hole when I'm doing it so anything that I loosen up will get sucked right up into the vac?

Bump for ^that^ question..

Also thinking about ordering new exhaust stuff to make a custom one.. I want to get the JVT headers, put a good resonator on, new Dynomax or Magnaflow mufflers, and tips for them.
