03 TL multiple engine issues

Hey guys I have an 03 Acura TL type s and It had a blown timing belt tensioner when I got it, i replaced the hydraulic cylinder and a couple weeks later, it blew again, could there be something wrong with the wheel? Also when I am stopped in gear the rpm fluctuates slightly between 4 and 500 rpm with a bit of a vibration.

Sounds like you may have more issues than the tensioner; I'm guessing you have some bent valves in your cylinder heads.

I wouldn’t doubt that, the end of the crankshaft is stripped completely so the balancer wobbles too, I’ve been debating on figuring out the issue or just finding a new motor

Walk away from the original 3.2 and put in a 2002 3.5 from an MDX. It's plug n play, almost.

Also consider using the cams, if the valves are bent, from the 3.2 and put them on the 3.5 for a Type-S.

does it have to be just the 2002 motor? Also wouldn’t I need the mdx ecu?

No ECU change required.

You need the J35A3 engine from a 2001-2002 Acura MDX.
If you are seriously considering the 3.5, look at the discussion on the thread below (post#9) for the parts, from the 3.2, that you need to transfer over to the J35A3 to plug and play with your 03 TL-S automatic:
