Yes but it is all relative to some extent. Our compression is higher so we can't run as much, but 5-6 lbs on our engines will produce a larger gain than 5-6 lbs on a lower compression ratio.

Your tuner was able to upload a modified program back into the chip. Who was the tuner, I might have GRD to give them a call.

Thanks

Ignore BHP label it is corrected to WHP and here are the gains

After Unichip - see below

I'd be curious to see what the gains look like on a Dynojet dyno at a different shop. What are other SC V6 Accords making at the wheels?

First, Serge just informed me Steve

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
:cheer:

Now, back to topic. Yep you're right, blown guys on AV6 showed pretty much the same numbers wih AV6 HB pulley (CLS standard). So I dont see the Unichip to be beneficial except that he said his car runs smoother then before.

What I would like to see if Unichip can make a difference with CLS HB pulley but he needs bigger injectors. Guys with CLS HBP typically show 255-260whp (without IC). If dyno will show better then 260whp then it may be fine to use Unichip, if not e-Manage is the key + IC. And actually, Unichip advised him not to use CLS HB pulley due to extreme heat in manifold without using IC

Thanks, boy am I old!!!

IMO, larger injectors are not needed, the existing one's just need to be used better.

I agree with the heat aspect plus they may not be able to fuel it correctly. But there are fixes to both issues.

ok it happened on the way home tonight my tranny blew, no warning. 28k on my 2003tls. The problem i have & i'm worried is that i had a half hour to get to the dealer to drop my car off & get a loaner. i said ok & got rid of my unichip stickers. They would have no reason to check my engine, when replacing my tranny. Then the service manager told me they would replace my tranny & put in a new ECU, i was dumbfounded. I'm hung as i had no time to take out my unichip. I just left & didn't tell them about my chip. 1st of all I have been told they cannot void a warranty unless they can prove with out a doubt the mod caused the breakdown. am i ok? Also is the new ecu going to screw up my unichip? Why are they changing the ecu anyways. Anyone know what i should do? Help

Uh OHHHHH!!!!!

That is not good. You may be lucky that the transmission problem is a known issue.

I thought that everyone knew that they changed the ECU? I hope everything goes well.

The transmission is under recall regardless of modifications. They can not prove the UniChip caused the failure because there are thousands of documented replacements from bone stock cars. Unless your dealer is a huge asshole I wouldn't worry about it. And if they do deny you warranty work, sue them.

hopefully they won't be shitty about it.

mrsteve's right though, they would have a hell of a time proving the unichip caused the tranny to go bad.

btw, guess where my car is?

OK....1. Happy Birthday Steve!!!!!!

and 2. I received my third and FINAL uni-chip today. I installed it after work. I only installed the chip first cause I was pressed for time and also didn't want to end up in the same situation as last time w/ a bad harness. So I disconnected the chip in the car and installed the new one. Which was by the way the very first chip I received but slightly revised after V-Tec. So anyways it's installed and I started it. No problems. that is UNTIL I stepped on the gas for more than 5000rpm. MISFIRING AGAIN!!!! Thats it....I am officially done w/ uni-chip!!! It's been what now..2-3 months of complete bullshit problems after problems w/ me from misfires, to bad harnesses, to crank sensor cels, to not even fuckin starting!!!!!Tommorow I will be contacting Jack and getting a FULL refund.

when it misfired???Of course I was driving it. It was on my way home but for the first 2-3 miles there was traffic so I couldn't do anything. Once the traffic cleared it was all over. Sorry if my post was hard to understand.

Hmmm. That weird, I tested your harness. Jack asked me to drive my car in about a week ago so I can test someone harness because they can't find anything wrong with it.

I brought my car in there, and the tech there replaced the harness with yours I belief. I drove it around for quite some time, and vtec many many times to redline, with no misfires. Although, it did ping a little bit at first because the ECU got reset, but after a while, it had absolute no issues at all. Maybe the PDG has something unique to them?

I haven't sent back my chip or anything to get re-programmed but I also am receiving CELs in VTEC range.. So he's not the only one.. I'm sure there's something different about our cars.

i have recieved the reprogrammed chip back from unichip 8/20. i spoke w/josh after they did a (1) day turnaround on mine. the chip was listed on the back as the "d" map. i installed on 8/22 and did an "idle relearn" then test drove . results: good news, good linear power low, mid range and high rpm . (bad news, cel on 1st wot run ) at first just flashing then constant cel. rough idle is gone and hesitation at 4k rpm is gone. i'll have the cel "read" then contact them. (Could just be overrevving, i'm up to redline while still pulling strong. if this cel problem can be corrected. i'm pleased with the results.

ha...naw man it wasn't the harness. Because the last time I installed the whole kit (2nd uni-chip I received) the harnes was no good and my car wouldn't even start. So they walked me over the phone on how to fix the harness that I received then. And it was ok. This time when I received the kit again I figured i would just install the chip and see how the power gain is and if I liked it then I would install the new harness that you tested. But it never got that far seeing as my car had misfires everytime I entered V-tec.

So anyways...I contacted Jack and Josh today and told them that I was basically fed-up w/ all this. There's no fucking way that I'm sending the shit back for a FORTH CHIP!!!!I told them I wanted to return everything and Jack sounded pissed but said OK. I also made sure I would be getting a FULL REFUND, and he said yes. The only thing that sucks is that I allready spend $20 to ship back the first kit to them and now i am gonna have to spend another $40 or so to ship back the two kits I have now OH Well...lesson learned!!

It's good news to hear the almighty Jack granted you a refund. I'd gladly eat shipping costs to get back my seven bills. That is a lot of money.

thats unfortunate Ant, I'm sorry to hear the chip didnt work out for you.

I'm glad to hear Jack stepped up to the plate and took it back.

Hopefully comptech will be that cooperative with the springs.
