No, don't install until those of us with the MAJOR vibration problems confirm that the new side mount does indeed resolve that problem.

If it doesn't, then you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us . . . waiting to get the front/rear mount problem resolved.

There's a HUGE difference between a little vibration and what we are experiencing. If I were close to Innovative I'd go there and guarantee they would be freaked out by how bad it's vibrating.

Has anyone been in one of those fancy vibrating massage chairs? Well go sit in one and turn it on vibrate only and that's what it feels like when mine's in gear, and like Fuzzy says, it gets worse with the A/C on. It will literally rattle the fillings out of your teeth. I feel like I'm in a NASCAR . . . and I'm not exaggerating.

the only time i have vibrations that i would consider this bad is when i let my clutch out about halfway in first. other than that it does have increased vibrations but it's hard to compare without ridding in someone else's car with the same issue. or maybe it's because i'm use to raggedy old cars and trucks.

on that note RUF are you ever in Dallas or Austin? I sometimes go to Dallas for the weekend and maybe we could meet up and compare. i go skating up in allen at the skatepark and will be up again with my car on may 9th - 11th.

Yes, I'm actually 20miles north of Dallas, and closer to Allen. Let me know . . . we have a fairly active group that does meets from time to time.

it is very easy.
you will notice that the little black ABS/SRS box is blocking access to the side mount. remove those 3 bolts, unplug it but i left the cable attached. just set it on top the motor out of the way. with the front and rear mounts still installed just unbolt the side mount. 3 bolts hold the mount to the body/frame, 2 in the engine block and then the main center one. you will need some ratchet extensions to get to the bolts. then just wiggle it around until you get it to slide out. once that's out get the new one in bolt everything back down. once you get the frame and block bolts started by hand go ahead and slide the main center bolt in while everything is loose. i tightened the frame and engine block bolts down in a rotating pattern to make sure everything stayed aligned. then place the SRS box and bracket back in place and plug it back in. waa-la!

that's with the new side and the first model of the front and rear. yeah i have vibrations but nothing more than i was expecting. there are still plenty of little vibrations and they do increase a little with the AC turned on. if it was a daily i would not have these.
i used new longer bolts that i bought at the bolt store.

Yeah just finished an hour or so ago, I was removing the old one when the fed-ex guy came and gave me the new one. It went in fine. Vibrations are less and the sound I have been hearing under load is less.

Old one on the left, new one on the right:

I used the factory bolts.

Do you mean if it was your DD you wouldn't be able to put up with it? I DD my TL-S and I know there will be a little, but I'm just worried about how much.

I drive 50 miles a day and I can tolerate them fine, even when I was stuck in stop and go traffic for two hours, but then not much bothers me since I ride with the windows down and the music up. I could definitely see how it could take a toll on another person. The new mounts (front, rear and side) are suppose to be softer than the ones most of us how now.

yeah if this car was my DD i probably wouldn't do this to it. the vibrations are not to as extreme as RUF had (or at least sounds that way from what he describes). the only time i have extreme vibrations is if i pop the clutch to slow and don't give it enough gas then the car shutters. the car will shutter innovative mounts or stock mounts but with the after market mounts the shutter is increased.

if you have driven an older car and are use to little vibrations and rattles then you probably won't mind these mounts. i daily a 96 mustang that handles worse than a drunk slut on friday night. it has all kinds of rattles and such. just listening to some people on here complain about some little rattles in the sunroof or behind the radio. these mounts are not for those type people.

I don't have the side yet, waiting for my replacement, but I do have the front & rear & yes wheel hop is almost gone. I have a ton more traction from a stop now.

Could one of you guys post a picture of the new side mount installed? I am now starting to have some of these crazy vibration issues with the new side mount, that I did not have with the old side mount.

Thanks.

I was examining the new side mount today, made sure everything was tightened up correctly and it appears to be, but I noticed that my new side mount appears to be at an angle:

What do you guys think, installation issue (on my part) or faulty replacement mount? Everything lined up fine when I was installing it.

I got tired of the excessive vibration problem and tried trouble shooting with the new innovative mount, but with no luck. I just ended up putting the old innovative one back on and now the problem is gone.
