Good luck Dallison...keep us posted.

Getting an oil changed on Saturday. I need to rotate the tires but it's been so damn cold out. Maybe I'll just have them do it.

I drained the radiator today and cleaned out the overflow reserviour. I cleaned whatever gunk that was hanging out on the radiator cap. The overflow wasn't too bad. Maybe it was never cleaned out before but i'll keep an eye out for it int he next few months.

If anyone is looking to clean out their reserviour, it just slides up out of it's bracket. You don't need to unbolt anything.

I did and oil change and wash. When i step back to see if i dried it properly, i know why i have this car, it's a suite car.

I always get the new car bug and then I wash my car.....I did that today. It's the first time it's been 45 since NYE and actually sunny. I went in for a wash and then ended up doing a quick detail with the quick detailer and dressed the tires.

Car looks so nice now

And now I refuse to take it out of the garage.

One of the best in my somewhat biased opinion.

Depending on what you're looking for I suppose. Welcome!

Well....I also have a 99 Saab 9-5 with 231k miles so I've become fairly competent at DIY repairs on it. Now the RL doesn't require so much attention so I haven't really had to get so down and dirty yet. I've already fetched the 1996-2004 Service Manual thanks to this site, and replaced my rear struts successfully.

Thanks for your very useful posts!

I passed smog last week, lol. Took this while there. Car wouldn't stay on the rollers without being tied down. Car's just too powerful
Edit: just realized my fender liner has ripped off at the top of the fender. Dammit!!

The debate to pull and stretch the fenders begins.
Is it worth it?

The thing is, I don't wanna run too much camber. I daily this and too much camber would eat my tires up like JLO's ass with a thong.

We gotta pay to play.

I keep my camber at right at or just under -1.0 and wear is noticeable. Toe is dead 0.

Yeah it was lol. Car was a handful in the rain, gotta love snap oversteer before my alignment! Car feels very neutral now but the turn in is not as great now. I think i'm going to go to my original -.24 toe out.

Cell phone shot. I'll get more pics after the next carshow in 2 weeks.

Playing with barrel sizes:

Heres the wheels after we assembled them.

RYK- do what you want. I'm not keen on pulling the fenders... I actually buckled my right quarter panel on my RL and it irritates me when I look at it. If you do pull be careful, you will probably cause your paint to crack and spiderweb if you aren't careful. Proceed at your own risk.

Are those Varrostens? They seem so... hope they're legit TE37's though.

Damn that is one sick set of wheels. What offset are you running? I aspire to obtain the stance that you have.
Sadly though... they are not TE's. I'm planning on running these for a temp status and then I want to upgrade to a name brand wheel. The new Work Meisters really-really caught my eye.

Sorry though, I really am not at liberty to discuss the wheel specs though because it's a custom one off set.

By the way, I think the SSR SP1's are MUCH better looking than the Work Meisters.

Understandable. Well know this... it looks GREAT!
I'm not too much of a fan of SSR's. I've had a few sets in my past and they always had problems. Butter soft lips, leaking rivots, paint/finish problems.... it just all left a bad taste. I have yet to sport a set of WORK so I want to try a new line.

Again, props on the vehicle, dude.

My volume buttons on the steering wheel stopped working this morning.

I did the trick of hitting the radio knob, going all the way up, down, hitting it again and it worked.

I can't believe that is the fix.

If it wasn't black/black, I wouldn't even consider an RL

Keeping my eyes peeled for a black/black 04 RL

I wanted white but these cars are rare as it is without being picky about the color.

How much oil does the RL take?

I read that it was 4.9 quarts somewhere. Is that right?

Yeah. I usually buy a 5 quart jug and it fills right to the top mark.

According to the service manual:

1996-2004: 5.6 qt for engine overhaul; 4.9 qt for oil change, including filter; 4.5 qt for oil change, without filter

But like Old_Hatch said, I just pour it in until it reaches the top line.

Found out something new just recently about the RL.

Anyone else noticed that the rear seat headrests also tilt front to back? I know most of us spend time in the drivers seat and not in the rear seat.
