Thank you, I got lucky with this one. I really like having the GPS lower and closer rather than having it mounted from the windshield, it's easily accessible that way. Plus it's more concealed so I don't have to worry about removing the mount at work. I used to have the windshield mount and building security at work left me a note to conceal it or it'll get broken into.

I had to pick her up from work today and I told her I'm giving it to her in perfect condition and I expect it to stay that way. Her response: Of course, you'll clean it for me!

Thanks. I don't have an extractor, I just used a brush and some carpet cleaner. I used to detail cars and like that look when everything is fresh and clean I took the floormats out and actually sprayed them down with the hose, sprayed with carpet cleaner, brush cleaned them a few times, sprayed with hose again and then vacuumed the water with a shop vac. They're currently drying.

I actually used armor all for everything. I need to get some good leather protectant and go over all the seats. I'll pick up some this week since I'll probably be doing this again next weekend either with the old TL or with the one I'm hopefully purchasing.

damn that rug looks good for elbow grease and a brush. Lol

as far as leather I'm about to Leatherique my interior again. It's worked best for me out of all the leather care products I've used. ( Lexol, Meguires, Wolfgang)

Hmm did I ever post the before and after pics when using leatherique? It's pretty impressive.

Heres one where the top of the seat is completely cleand and the seat cushion still has the rejuvinator oil on it. It sucks up the dirt basicly bringing it out of the leather. Thats why it looks really dirty.

If you want to see some more pics check here: http://forums.acuralegend.org/showpo...96&postcount=1

I'm about to do it again in a week or 2 along with the seatbelts hopefully.

How long does this process take? It's like $80, right?

Yeah for the big bottle kit. Theres a smaller kt for 50 bucks or so.

It depends on you. Its supposed to be on at least 4 hours in a nice hot condition. Parked car in the sun or seats covered in plastic inside your decent temperature garage at home.

I personally put it on early morning and let it sit on the hot sun all day and removed the following day. Restored alot of the flexibility, and even made it smell like new leather smell.

I personally plan on doing 3-4 applications a week apart and then follow with another treatment every 6-12 months depending how much it needs it. hopefully it will keep the leather good for years to come.

I might have to jump on this. I saw your pics on the other forum, looks great. I'll see the condition of the TL seats tonight and might buy it while it's still summer out.

lol

Just remember the longer you cna leave it on in a hot environment the more he seats will absorb the oil. They felt so nice afterwards, almost new really. The seats regained almost as much softness as the door panels. Like the new new showroom leather kinda feels rubbery. If I would have done a couple more applications it would probably be in the same soft stae now. Its been over 9 months since I did that initial appplication and while they are not tight like when I first got the car the differance is very noticable.

From what Ive read from the pros is that after the first couple of applications (this is for older hard leather and spread a couple of days to a week apart) the trick is to keep doing this treat ment every 6-12 months to keep your leather in good shape. Depending on individual needs of course.

It does take alot of elbow grease with the cleaner to get the dirt/oil out of the grain though so dont be discouraged and like anything else work one panel at a time.

I'm waiting on an e-mail with a vin to run autocheck on and if it's clean, I'm probably buying a......

06 Infiniti M45 with Sport, Journey and Tech packages. Has every possible option, comes black on black.

Seats look good! A lot like mine, they've managed to stay showroom quality. The leather in our RL's seems to be very resilient and wear well.

Allright fellas.

The RL was officially given to the fiance (still mine though :P)

I picked up the new car last night.
05 TL 6 speed. Pearl white/gray with nav, back up sensors, aspec kit.

I FINALLY got my white car. I wanted a white RL but happy now that I found a black one.

Nice.. good choice. And with the A-Spec suspension it is a stiff ride but strangely more tolerable than stock.

I think it's just the aspec kit, not the suspension. Could be wrong.

beautiful color. my cousin just picked up an '04 white TL with tan interior and nav for $14K with 40K miles from an old couple. the car basically looked new; still smells new and drives like new. i'm so jealous of him. how many miles and how much on yours?

This one's got 67K, I paid $16K

Auto's are known for trans problems and I wanted 6 speed. I looked at auction post sales and cars with these options/this condition bring in 15 minimum so I jumped on it. In my mind, I thought it should cost $14,500-15,000 until I saw it.

I'll still be in the RL section, still have the RL!

I'm bouncing from 1st gen TL to 3rd gen TL, to 1st gen RL to MDX.....I love AZ.

Great looking car.

lol, my 00 rl had heated mirrors. I didn't think that this one had them for some reason since the button isn't really in plain sight.

This morning i look down and bam, there's the button.

Thank you.

Here's a better pic after clay/buff/wax Saturday morning:

So far I've only driven the TL to work, otherwise we take the RL everywhere. When we go to parties, I'm the one that likes to so we have to take the RL so the fiance can drive home

Looks good man! You get the interior done too?

You know when I was looking for the RL I was also looking for a 04+ TL, but they were still a little more expensive than the RL.

The interior was detailed prior to picking it up for the most part so I just concentrated on the outside.

Here are some inside pics:

I didn't think I'd ever buy one but when you see the right one......

A question for anyone with oem nav.

Which routing method wors best for you?

I find that direct routing sometimes take you off the highway on longer trips, while easy seems to stick more to highways for longer trips.

so which mode of routing do I use and what are your observations? Especially since there isn't a "fastest" routing style.

Options the TL has doesn't even compare to the RL. I love having voice activated controls.

Fit and finish, I feel like they're similar. The RL of course rides much softer, it's heavier, it's bigger. The TL is small and fun and sporty/quick. The TL is definitely not as smooth as the RL.

Biggest difference - weight.

lol if its a black car your screwed.

Nah but it takes alot more effort than lighter colors.

The 04 RL has the same voice system and nav as your TL. I wish I would have bought that one 04 I was looking at.

I had an '05 TL in Ruby Red. I didn't like the visibility or the stiff suspension but it was a great car otherwise. The leather in the RL is higher quality.

The TL feels sooo much lighter in the front, like the difference between a full shopping cart and an empty one. Holy understeer Batman in the RL! Even my '97 TL feels a lot lighter in the nose.

Yup.

Black is the hardest color. I've polished my RL with the oribtal at least 5-6 times in the last 8.5 months. It's gotten much better, but one car wash and the swirls are back.

I love black when it's clean but MAN it's a lot of work to keep it clean.

Yes - the suspension is very stiff compared to the RL. That's probably the biggest drawback but I didn't expect anything different out of a much sportier car.

Ken - we share lots of common cars

Hey Ken.... your 97 TL, was it the 3.2 version?

If so how did the steering compare to the RL?

Was it nice and quick responding like say an Accord or Civic, or was it just as loose feeling as the RL?

Yep, 3.2 version and my wife drives it now.

The steering on the TL is much better than the RL in my opinion. Same great feel as a mid 90's Accord though not quite as heavy. The '02 RL feels vague in comparison.

And the '96 - 98 RL was almost Buick or Cadillac in feel

If it is the motor mount you'll need to be experienced and have the right tools. Probably a couple hundred dollars.

Does anyone remember where there are pictures of the RL with CL wheels on? I can't find them but remember seeing a white one and 3.5's.

Love those wheels. Tempted to upgrade my TL to the RL's 16 inch wheels and braking setup.
