Yep, '04's have the side opening center console lid.

I don't think its height adjustable, its been a couple years since I've driven one though.

I would assume it would fit

Went on a trip to Chicago again this weekend. 5 people in the car and full trunk of groceries on the way back. 200 mile trip, will fill up tmrw morning and see how the mpg were. I was pretty conservative the whole trip, kept it 75 and under.

I got 25 mpg going to California and back. Did 72 mph most of the time with several mountain passes.

The best I've seen so far was 21.xx

I didn't have time to fill up this morning so it may be skewed a little.

I gotta admit with all that weight in the car, the RL would look awesome dropped!

All these good mpg's are from trips to Chicago. Hopefully I can stop going every weekend now and get back to a normal routine in life...and save some miles on the RL.

VSA is probably a bad sensor somewhere. Get the service manual from pdftown.com for the RL and it will tell you how to pull and read the code.

hows the maintanace on the car? Need of a tune up maybe?

dealer cannot read the codes due to a computer problem (they are not sure and of no help). tried an independent acura mechanic and he could not read the codes either.

Dealer told me the yawn sensor is one possible problem but the part here in Canada is $1200 and they dont gaurnatee the fix. I can live with it for now just thought I'd put it out there for ideas on fixes.

fluid changes are done frequently but have not had the plugs changed in long a while - I guess that could be the cause of the smell

the yaw sensor? I think the only yaw sensor is in the Nav unit in the trunk and thats completely seperate of VSA.

A common problem in Legends is a faulty sensor on one of the wheels. The rear I believe. You could have those checked out. The service manual will also show you how to troubleshoot or check sensors I beleive.

The proper name for that part is Yaw Rate Sensor but I will definately try the wheel sensors.

btw..is there a way to reset those VSA lights ?

I think the dealer has to reset the VSA light. Takes a lot more than a code reader/reset...

Try unhooking the battery

DTC Clearing
1. Press the parking brake pedal.
2. Push the VSA off switch, and hold it, then turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Hold the VSA off switch for 3 to 5 seconds, then release the VSA off switch.
4. After 3 seconds, the VSA activation indicator blinks 4 times. It means that the DTC is cleared.
5. If the VSA activation indicator stays on, replace the VSA modulator-control unit.

look on pdftown (I think) for the RL service manual. See if you can do it yourself.

Theres a service check connector under the glovebox that you can use to pull the codes.

Oh and that yaw sensor the service manual says its in the trunk you need to remove the cover behind the back seat and the lid that covers the spare to get to it.

This is how to pull the code I beleive.

DTC Indication
NOTE: This operation can also be done with the Honda PGM Tester.
1. Connect the SCS service connector to the service check connector (2P) under the glove box.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. The ABS indicator comes on for about 2 seconds and goes off. Then it will indicate the DTC.
NOTE:
• If the DTC is not memorized, the ABS indicator will go off for 3.6 seconds, and then come back on.
• If the ABS indicator stays on, troubleshoot for ABS indicator does not go off (see page
19-213).
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the SCS service connector.
NOTE: The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will stay on after the engine is started if the SCS service connector is connected.

Conditions for DTC indication:
Vehicle speed is 6 mph (10 km/h) or less.
The SCS service connector is connected before the ignition switch is turned ON (II).
The brake pedal is released.

Look for that service manual it will help alot.

Yup it's the 2.5 I5 with a 4 speed trans. Been in the family since 1999. Got it with 124K miles, ran from Milwaukee to Louisiana so it was all hwy miles, company car with all maintenance done.

I can imagine the hatch being difficult to mod...

When I had my first TL (beige), I was having a tough time finding any parts for it, it was all $$$ stuff from Japan and I couldn't swing that in high school working at a car wash so I just dropped it, put rims on it, tints, tv, stereo, grill, exhaust and called it a day. That was 8 years ago and there still isn't much aftermarket for them.

there's a guy with a 2nd gen Legend coupe that hit 400k not to long ago and his car is mint. Hope that's me one day.

on a side note I just noticed that there's a "Guided missiles and space vehicles" category in the nav. Now I can get my guided missles. Lol

it's no secret why hondas (and toyotas) are ranked so high in quality and durability (the older models, of course)....they just keep on going and going and going.

Question for the random question forum..

I can't seem to find performance mods other than a good ol K&N filter. Can anyone point me to a place where i can make this lumbering 3.5 breathe easier? Intake? AEM parts to use from another Honda/Acura? Thanks...

For sure.

And +1 on older models. I feel like they were built stronger and are more reliable.

91-95 Legend parts are almost bolt on.

look for cai with VSA for a Lgend.

OBX haders will bolt up, but I believe they Y pipe might need some changes in the RL.

Alot of Legend parts are almost drop in on the RL

is there such a thing as leather replacement kits out there for our 3.5RL? all the popular leather sites do not carry anything.
