My problem is they're wrapped in 215/45/17 and I just put new tires on the RL 10K miles ago that I'll run through the winter. I don't want to put new tires on these wheels...still in search for wheels for my TL.

No car payment FTW!

Yeah, I had it for 3 months. I sold it for what I bought it for..

I just wasn't the biggest fan of it, I don't really need it and I would lose a lot more money if I kept it longer so I sold it. You can tell it's not built as solid as they used to be. My 96 TL and the RL drive much better and have 4x and 2x the miles.

That's nice that they have direct flights.

I flew to Portland a few times lasts year and always had to fly through Phoenix or Minnesota

though one of my favorite TL body style, the interior bits and pieces are kinda cheap. glad you didn't lose any value in the sale.

I agree, even with the newer TLs. Everytime i take my car in for something i get one and i always think the interiors are plastic and fake leather. Glad you didnt loose money on it though. Whats next?

It's not even that everything inside is cheap (which it is) but the rattles. Everything in that car rattled. Every time I got in the RL, I felt like I was in a much nicer car and it cost almost 3x less - that's not right.

I'm glad I didn't lose either

Buying the wife a camry Going to look at a white 04 tonight. She wants something reliable and economical, doesn't get better than a camry. I'm happy the seats completely fold down. My uncle and I fit 34 2x4's in his one time at Home Depot so I'm looking forward to having space when I'm working on the house.

I'm taking the RL back for now but my dad said he'd take it off my hands if I find something else. To be honest with you, I'm slowly starting a search for a nice 01-03 GS430 but I want 100-120K miles with most major maintenance done and cheap...like I bought my RL. Drive it, don't do anything to it.

I miss my GS400, I think it's time to go back...

yup, my RL is solid as a rock; nothing rattles except for a few minor creaks here and there when it's really cold. but once the car warms up, silence!

good luck on your search. GS430s are nice and can't go wrong with a camry!

Didn't buy a camry :Woot:
I just picked up a very clean 2008 Scion xb.

So far. I'm impressed! It's got every option, I'll get some pics up this weekend.

Wife is very happy. No Gs for me, keeping the RL for a while.

Happy for you man! I used to have a Rav4 before the RL, same 2.4 engine. Kinda sounds like a diesel on cold starts, but solid. You have a timing CHAIN, so that's a bonus.

I love those 2nd gen GS's. 2jz strait 6 is solid.

Thanks!

The 2.4 is a great engine, the fact that it's a timing chain was definitely part of the decision process. I'm due for my 3rd timing belt change on my 96 TL in 20K miles

Taking the RL back this weekend

driving the rl is a treat. After driving the wife's tsx on weekends, i enjoy the smoothness of the rl. It is a tad bit quieter too.

in other news, i think i want to get snows. My tread is about 40% and it won't cut driving in the snow.

I can get some pirellis on tirerack for $350 shipped and take them to wally world to mount/balance etc for about $60 total.

The two things i would recommend from wally word is car supplies on the cheap and their balancing. My normal tire place can't balance a tire on my vehicles if their lives depended on it.

My es300 was in over 6 times to balance and no success. I took it to wal-mart and it was perfect.

$60 is a steal.

I have a guy that works at a Honda dealer that does it after hours for $25 $25 alignments too.

I also miss snow tires, all seasons are just not the same; no matter how good they rate.

I had snows on my 96 RL. Bought another set of the stock wheels online for $300 and got the tires (Firestone) on tirerack. The car did well in the NH snow... It is even more beastly in the snow....

Loving my RL's crusing abilities.

Combine the smooth ride and USB input for the stereo, it makes driving to Boise and back quite livable.

I got a quote of $390 for firestone winterforce tires installed and tax. I think that might be my choice. I have had these tires before and they worked very well.
