Speaking of zoos, avoid the Edmonton one. I hear they're renovating it now, but when I last went there with the wifey about 3 years ago, it was a sad place to see. The Calgary zoo on the other hand is fantastic.

Like Edmonton's "Art Gallery" or museum? Everytime I go to a new city, I visit the art gallery and museum. Gives me an indication of the depth of the city. At Edmonton, I remember going to those (and sorry, gotta compare to Chicago)...and I almost got kicked out for so hard at the pathetic exhibits.

And oh, Edmonton: the only "major" city where the audience claps between movements at the symphony orchestra.

Probably NOT as tasty as yours, LeBronbreath. Just my usual of raw veggies, slice of cheese, egg, and fruit.

Are you trying to lose weight or build muscle? You're starving your muscles if you're trying to build them, however, it's a good way to eat if you're trying to slim down.

Just ate my chicken chili. Healthy and delicious!

Definitely get the Homestead Exemption.. Check your appraised value and go against what similar homes sold for in the past year and contest it if it's too high.

My point being, Justn living with mamasan.. not sure if he's paying rent, but it's an opportunity to save monies. If he does buy a house, I suggest renting out rooms to people who are responsible and have excess stockies to borrow.

The waterpark is cool if you've never been there before, but kinda gross also. Last time I was there they kicked everybody out of the pool because someone dropped a bomb in there. I've also heard there's a shit ton of mice and cockroaches due to the warm weather and high humidity. Pretty nasty. The amusment park is cool if you're 8 or under. Maybe 10, at the most. The big roller coaster is good for giving whiplash, lol. Other than that one ride, they're all kiddie rides.

The mall itself isn't in bad shape. They do renos there every so often to keep things fairly fresh. There are some good stores, but really, you can find the same stores in any other mall. They even have doubles of some stores there. Why? Is it too far to walk across the mall?

Lots of hood rats hang out at the mall too. It's cool to see once or twice, but beyond that it's nothing all that special. I can feel my blood pressure rising when walking through that mall because of the hoards of people.

I'm very trim...hence the "stick/twig" jokes and my "honorary" smiley:

I used to be on a protein-rich diet but on my own research, I've decided that's not for me...and I'm not sure about the long-term benefits of eating meat-meat-meat all the time.

So, I consume mostly veggies and fruit during my lunch meals...with a typical stirfry with a protein (i.e. chicken or fish) source for dinner a la brown rice.

Lunches also include a handful of almonds and etc. (i.e. peanut butter). It's not like I'm on the supermodel-lose-1000 pounds diet...

Anyhow, I've explained it before. But, yes...my lunches are not conventional at all for a self-professed gym rat...but, I'm okay with that.

Atta girl. Too bad she has the body of a pre-teen.

I like skinny, but with her boyish hair, I feel like a predator looking at magazines with her on the cover.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I wasn't meaning eat PROTEIN Like crazy. It does get tiring and pretty damn expensive. Although protein is necessary, what a lot of people neglect is incorporating some clean carbs. Your muscles are starving when you wake up in the morning and after a good work out. That's the best time to refuel them with clean carbs (aka oatmeal, or pasta, or rice- not French fries, lol). Carbs = energy. Lack of energy means your body relies on feeding itself by consuming muscle mass.

Eating healthy sucks, lol. If you're feeling good doing what you're doing, then by all means continue on. I think getting super anal about diet, eating 10 times a day, strict workout regimes, etc, take the fun out of working out. By that point it stops feeling good and more like punishment.

Decided to do a speedy oil change today at home when I returned from work. Lowered the car back down and almost started to pour oil in and then- waaaaaait a minute....

I realized I didn't even remove the old oil filter

So up she went again lol. Of the 50+ oil changes I've done in my time, I've NEVER done that. Before I started pouring oil I was thinking "wow, this really did go fast!" I guess that's what happens when you rush

Spartan, what he means is there aren't any actual grease points (if you're referring to what I think you are). I remember on my dad's old American cars, he would have a grease gun and lube certain points of the suspension. The TL, and any Honda for that matter, doesn't have that.

As far as "shitzu" grease goes, Majo means "shin etsu" grease. You can buy it at the dealership and it's a miracle grease/lube that guys use on pretty much everything like the sunroof, door hinges, etc, and on any rubber seal that begins to squeak, rattle, etc. the only downside is that it only suppresses rattles for around 3ish months.

Actually.. you can still replace the filter after you do a fresh oil change. It's not under pressure so you'll only leak what's at the top of the filter. I've changed filters mid-OCI because the oil I had in the engine held up longer than the filter it was running through. Plus, you don't need to raise it up to get the filter. Just turn the wheel out and finagle your arm in to loosen the filter. When I get lazy, I do that.

Definitely love doing oil on the MDX.. don't need to do shit but slide the pan under. Heck, once in a while I don't even remove the drain bolt. Just open it up 3/4 of the way.. let it take a nice drain through the threads.. go watch the rest of the game, come back, spray it down with brake cleaner, tighten it back up. Oil filter.. then fresh oil. Put some ribs on the grill.. The oil on the hands gives it a nice smoke.

I once freaked a dealer out by tasting the motor oil and transmission fluid. Told him the transmission fluid was burnt, should taste sweet. He looked at me mighty strange.

He didn't bullshit me anymore and give me a good offer.

I can't fit an oil pan under my car without raising it up first. Otherwise I would have just cranked the wheel on the ground. You are right about changing the filter after pouring the fresh oil in though- I guess I'm so used to the "standard procedure" that I didn't even think about it, lol. Good call, Pinky!

And is it wrong of me to actually enjoy the smell of used motor oil on my hands? I can only imagine how good it would be on a rack of ribs. Ah, delicious carcinogens...

Lot's of truth here. Definitely need to refuel with carbs after a lift. In the morning, your muscles aren't fatigued though so the carbs don't do anything in terms of muscle replenishment. They give you a great energy boost though. I hit a protein shake right when I wake up to get the protein synthesis going immediately, and then have my normal breakfast about 30 minutes later when I get to work, which consists of clean carbs and some kind of leanish protein. Gotta stay anabolic, yo. Fuck the junk food.

Some truth here, but that's not always true. Calories = energy. Carbs are a type of macro nutrient which contains some # of calories per gram, but you also get energy from fats and proteins. Whether or not you lose muscle mass or body fat when at a caloric deficit (not enough energy) depends on your diet. Caloric cycling seems to be the best way to maintain/gain mass when at a caloric surplus, and lose fat when at a caloric deficit. Check this out:

Amen, brother. The bottom line is that if you're happy with your results and the lifestyle is sustainable for you then that's the perfect place to be. Everyone I know that has tried something crazy like that always ends up quitting because it's too much to keep track of. I started with bullshitting around with basic lifts and not eating junk food earlier this year. Now I'm starting to get way more into the science so that I can set specific fitness goals and work towards them.
