I'd give you a "thanks", but I'm not allowed.

 

The thanking system was pretty legit though. People with lots of thanks generally contribute to the forum, either by providing useful specialized information, insightful opinions, helping noobs, or just by being hilarious.

I don't really care if I get any recognition for helping people out, but I can't help but feel that it was definitely another positive dimension to AZ. Even if people abused it, the structure still stands to have a generally positive effect.

 

I agree...it was an easy way to stand with someone if you agreed with something they posted. Oh well.

Hell yeah Paul's ban was justified. Fuck that guy. Piece of shit. If he wasn't banned, a bunch of noobs who don't know how to search would have contacted him for services and gotten ripped off. I get your point though maharajamd, that the "case law" from this ban is unclear. But it seems that the point of the ban was that he clearly had the capability to scam people and his intentions were very clear both in Luke's evidence and his own responses in that thread.

If I ran a bar and some fucker kept scamming people in my bar, I'd get rid of him instantly. That's all this forum is anyway, a bunch of car people consuming hypothetical alcohol with each other.
