2013:

Plans:
  • Replace OEM shift boot with NSX-R shift boot
  • Replace broken center console armrest with OEM leather armrest
  • Replace upholstered (useless) hvac vent with OEM vent
  • Tear suede off and refinish console with custom double din cutout
  • Bring passenger side seat in to get small separation in seam repaired
  • Complete electrical connections for DC5 steering wheel conversion
  • Prospeed RDX injector conversion
Possibilities:
  • LED tail light conversion
  • New Double DIN unit
Black Friday allowed me to pick up a few items at a discounted price, so I snagged the RDX injector conversion kit (>>>Details<<<) and an AEM F/IC so I can properly tune the NSX. I also snagged the NSX-R shift boot as a part of my console reconstruction.

This past weekend I got started on the interior remodel. First things first... remove the passenger seat, which was set almost all the way back... with a f*$^ed up power seat switch. I zipped on over to SaDisTicEM1’s father's company who does reupholstery and he tidy'd up the separating seam within 45min. Then out comes the driver’s side seat to give me more working room. Out comes the centre armrest with broken hinge (to be replaced with new OEM leather), and centre console. I tore off the gaudy and now dirty alcantara upholstery to see what I had to work with under there. The USB connection on my stereo had been skipping so there had to be some electrical issues behind there... low and behold, a rats nest. I HATE hack jobs.
Seat’s before and after pic

F*&^ youuuuuu!!

Looking better already!!

No stereo bracket? No problem... styrofoam. Bloody hack jobs.

Time to rid the car of this ridiculousness... gonna get a new harness to clean up this rats nest.

Change that had piled up under the seats... Tim Hortons money!

It blows me away that someone would even think that this is acceptable... especially in an NSX. I'm going to see if I can clean this up, but theres a good chance I'll bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Started to pull apart the door cards as I'll be refinishing the door switch surrounds the same colour/fashion as the center console. When removing the vents from the switch surround, be sure to take any and all precautions as those 15yr old plastic snaps are brittle. Took me ~1hr to get them out, but I also saved breaking any of them!

Pieces that will match the center console:

^Crazy update dude! That NSX-R shift boot looks so badass. Lulz at the styrofoam.

I'd definitely recommend doing an LED tail light conversion. It makes the car look so much more modern. I deleted the clear diffusers for my tails and it really shows each individual LED better, opposed to a blend.

These aren't my pictures, but exactly what I did:

Before with diffuser in

Diffuser deleted

Above shots taken from this thread for any TL'ers looking at doing this. Unfortunately this doesn't work for those who have 07-08 tails.

The only reason it remains a possibility is cause it takes money from my house fund haha. I posted a full build thread on 780 and in the NSX section on Acurazine if you're keen to follow the build from 2010 to now.

NSX Tax... kills me every time.

Just to confirm, the LED conversion uses the stock housings and looks like this (With full bar and GTC as a switchable option):

And I wouldn't be getting the ebay style (still $1000 tail lights) that are ugly and tacky as fcuk:

The eBay item was NEVER an option... gaudy altezza-esque lights. It's been on my to-do list, but it remains a possibility until the final expenses of my upcoming trips are tallied.

Mark you should grab these if the vendor does another production run. It would complement your CF trunk and hood nicely:

If anyone is looking for a roof spoiler check out bmwoemshop on ebay. The fitment is spot on and so is the paint match. Here's a pic with the spoiler on my friends GS, I haven't put mine on yet

I wanted them badddd, as they are amazing pieces of work. But they were $1,800 in the group buy, and $2,000 retail.

@Daniel - Yeah man it's a great spoiler for the price. I believe the other members on this thread who have roof spoilers all got it from the same vendor. You might want to use something that offers more hold than the provided adhesive seeing as how Sanjay's flew off on the Henday.

@Mark - Lol what Sanjay said. Also, if you want your build thread here on acurazine to get more exposure, you may want to consider asking the mods to move it over to the "Car Talk" section. On the first page I see 2 NSX builds so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to put yours in there too.

On a side note, finally got to posting the detail of the RS4 my buddy and I did at the end of August here on acurazine. Enjoy:

If you're referring to the roof spoiler then yes they do.
LINK

Also make sure you message them for a price because they'll give you a much better price then the one listed, just say a friend showed me on acura forum and ask for a discount!

I messaged the seller and they took a couple bucks off. It was mainly to make sure it was the exact measurement as our roof.

Here's the second and last detail my buddy and I did to end off the season. Black BRZ:

60$ shipped LOL.
Buy two plus and it gets even cheaper. I ordered parts for a friends M3 and two roof spoilers at the same time and it ended up being about 50$ for each spoiler.

Yikes that sucks. Same thing happened to my parents rav4's moonroof. They were driving to Calgary and heard a loud noise. Checked around and when they pulled back the liner glass was falling in since the moonroof decided to implode.

Gots a question, would a worn clutch prevent a car from starting? My batteries fine, i definitely didnt forget to turn any lights off. Dont wanna get a new clutch since i start school new month,. Clutch pedal feels like pushing through thick syrup and then springs back as if it just got released from a sticky surface.
