'Official HOUSTON thread'
My Family has several mechanics in it, I'm a Software Engineer, but I enjoy working on cars and I've done several timing belts / timing chains on various vehicles. Dennis and I were going to change his T-belt but I think he was a bit apprehensive. Understandable since he doesn't know me. I'm free the 15th and 16th.
It was a last minute decision to try it.
I've never come across anything that laughed at my impact wrench like that Crank Pulley Bolt did.
400 ft-lbs on it and it still wouldn't budge.
Then we tried several breaker bar configurations and ended up twisting off an impact extension.
Dennis did you ever figure out how to get it off? I think your suggestion of having it broken loose, then re torqued to 181 ft lbs as it should be is a good one.
Or we could try this

Jed, one of our members, Joel has a problem with his car and would like some help diagnosing and fixing.
We could do a install meet. How does the 15th or 16th(this weekend) sound to everyone?

Is it throwing a Check Engine Light? If so you might want to have the codes read either by Acura or by Autozone.
I have no idea where you are in the troubleshooting process, but--
If your idle is off, then here are the things I'd think about:
The computer attempts to control the idle based on the Metered Air in (MAF sensor) and the measured Exhaust gas (O2 sensor).
If either of those things are off, then your idle will be incorrect.
If both of those things are working properly, then it could be the IAC valve not doing what the computer tells it to do.
If you have an aftermarket oiled filter, my first suggestion would be to use some MAF cleaner (CRC brand, Oreilly's) on the MAF sensor. If that doesn't work, then I'd try cleaning the IAC valve in the same way,
Be careful when handling/cleaning the MAF sensor, it's delicate. Just spray it down and let it air dry.
----
And now that I went back and read the second line, I'd be fine with an install meet this weekend.

if you would have read above how it did trigger a check engine and the code u would see that i have done some research.

i'm not sure he's doing it by himself or what. i'll prolly wont have time to work on any of that. not even for my own car
its been sitting for two weeks not running.

Yea Ralph I am trying to the two silver bezel pieces that runs from the dash along the shifter and e brake as well as my front grille and the silver section on the trunk. If it is easy enough to install I might do my roof. You can check out this thread.
