You could always take the catalyst shield and weld a straight through pipe in between and play it off as a cat =O. Yea it works and it doesnt distort exhaust flow like hollowing a cat! Works wonders. Also Rick I do not think you want to post info like that. keep it in PM's. Jotech can be fined a pretty penny and so on.

Sweet, thanks Rick. Ive watched the guys in teh past do mine, I dont ever recall them looking under the car.

Plus deleting the third cat cant do much. I will never touch the front two cats.

Im really not worried about a visual. Just when they sniff it.

Ive been taking mine to Acura for the past two years. They've always passed it.

Even with my tinted tail lights

Yea the precat deletes are nice but I dunno the quality. Technically they are easy to fab up but I dunno. I might look for someone to make them maybe with a free'r flowing catalyst. That might be an option compared to the stock one but oh well we will see. Just no time or money right now so yea.

They dont sniff obd2 vehicles. They go around for a test drive and put in the diagnostic plug. Only pre 1996 vehicles are run on a dyno.

Dont you think it would be the same as just takin the damn thing out and doing a straight pipe?

Oh wait, its getting them to do it is the problem

I know people that will do that. But welding a pipe in the way is basically it. The cat shell is just to trick them if they decide to do a visual. Yea basically if the computer says ok your ok thats the good part about obd2. No check engine lights your basically fine for the most part. Then the test drive is to make sure the vehicle itself is safe and blahblah blaah.

Yeah, that's what I told myself as well.

Anyway, I go out this morning and the check engine light is on . . .
I'm just having a bad run right now . . . I'm betting it's one of the O2 sensors. I'll take it to O'Reilly's and have them tell me what the code is.

I've got a friend that is running a 94 Supra, no cats, straight 4" pipe from the engine straight out back. He passes the sniff test every year with flying colors.

Well . . . that is the plan, but I just saw the weather and they're predicting scattered thunderstorms . . . so it'll come down to radar checks Friday starting around noon . . I'll post updates starting around that time.

OEM has tighter tolerances. Aftermarket they do not read as exact. We had a demonstration in class. We hooked up the o2 on a picoscope (need to get one) and the o2 didnt switch as effectively as the oem. Also OEM is a known quality product. I used a bosch sensor on my h22 setup once and never again...2 months and it crapped out. I just sucked it up for an OEM and it hasnt gone out since. Those are just my experiences. If you go aftermarket though good companies to consider are denso, NTK (branch off of NGK). THose two are reputable and they usually make OEM o2 sensors also.

As for wednesday I will be there late around 9 as always. You will probably see me roll in always with at least a GS and an NSX. If all else fails ill park in the back lot where there is less people if there are no spots left.

doesn't do anything for HP... it will help your acceleration as the engine will rev alot faster...

if you aren't running a CT SC or 600+ watt system in your trunk you are fine with the UR pulley...

Thanks, that's great info. I bet there are some discount sources for Denso.

I agree, negligible HP (2-3), but rev'n fast will improve responsiveness, and result in less than a 1/10 sec gain in the 1/4. Depending on your goals, and what the costs of the pullies are and what you have to spend . . . . you might want to consider helping it breath better . . . open up the intake . . bore out the TB and anything else accessable to increase airflow.

Pulleys are a butt dyno thing. Its all about letting the engine turn easier. Pulleys help a little but as mentioned not enough to where you will be oh wow 10whp. It will rev faster as mentioned. Whenever I buy aftermarket pulleys I always prefer them to be the same as the stock sized pulleys. Never been a fan of underdrive.

RKC Monday night meet has moved to the old Lincoln Mercury dealer, and there were a LOT of badass machines out there. 1,000 horsepower Supra, some nasty Vipers & Z06's, and a race-ready Ford GT.

Need some more TL's, though. They let everyone but 12 cars in tonight.

haha its posted on rkc? Maybe Tom posted it I dunno lol I dunno any other RKC members on CL. Anyway yea I will be out there with all my CL buddies haha. It should be a fun meet. Last year was a blast what my friend told me. And hopefully there will be a lot more mature people with common sense at this meet. Its the end of the month so it is good fun and gives some people time to plan ahead.
