Car looks good. But I went to the RKC Firewheel meet wasnt too impressed as I got there late at 9:40 ish when everyone started to pull out. Meets should not end early. Jared sounded like he negotiated with the mall people. It sucked ass. IMO it wasnt a great meet at all especially for the first time opening in a while.

Well, it was the first meet, and Jared wasn't expecting the lights to go off at 9:30. He's having that dealt with for next week.

Yeah. I was the only Type-S out for the 3Gen's, until a blue one came. Guy was cool, but left 10 minutes later.

I'll be there next week as well.

BY THE WAY . . . .

Depending on the weather Friday night . . . anyone up for a run to the Motorplex?

They've really cut back on the Fast Fridays and Hot Import Nights. It's probably the last time for a while before I'll go again . . . gunning for some low . . er very low 14s.

Maybe it would be nice to run the car to get a baseline to see what it runs. But first I need to source a pair of stockers. I dont feel like running down the track on the 19s I have.

Runs $15 for all you can run. Typically we have gotten 10-15 runs in in about 3-4 hours.

It is worth going just to see Ruf run his car.

He beat me by .2 last time and I have H/I where he only had an CAI. He has dropped a lot of weight and now has some new goodies.

It is a blast. Go and run, you will love it.

LOL . . . Mantis (one of the old guys) ran on 19s, but he had NOS

What I did was buy an extra set of wheels and then put a set of my old tires on it. The main reason is to keep from eating up my daily drivers . . . with the wheel spin it doesn't take long to wear them down.

Right now I'm planning on going . . . there'll be a pretty good headwind, but since it's been more than a year since I last went I'm really needing to see what it's running so I know what mods I want to do next.

The Motorplex is the older track down in Ennis. There is another track being built in the Tyler area, which will be closer for those of us on the northern and eastern side of the Dallas area. I'll have to find out when it's going to be open.

don't go jinxing me now . . .

I'll be disappointed if I don't knock .2ths off my best. You never know what the results of various mods will do. Sometimes a mod can actually net you nothing, or even result in a slower time because of offset traction or something. Traction is what I'm really worried about now.

aaaarrrrgggghhhh . . .

They closed the track for tonight . . . because of the wind and cold . .

"Tonight's Fast Friday, March 29, has been canceled due to the cold temperatures and increasing winds we will see as the evening progresses."

That really sucks . . . April 17th is the next open time . . .

I will be down to join you guys for a track day after i find a set of OEM rims if not aftermarkets. I dont think my times will look too good with the 19s and they have good tires. but i am gettin rid of them after the tires are out.

I wish I could get some good track tires . . . I need them. I had the car all ready to run and decided to play around a little last night and I was all over the road. I had no traction off the line or from a punch in 1st gear. Didn't matter what speed I was at in 1st gear it would just spin 'em when I punched it. I probably wouldn't have improved much on my 14.46 time because of the traction problem. I guess doing any more power mods would be a waste until I get the traction issue worked out. I probably need to save up for some 18" wheels & tires . . . which won't be for a couple of years.

Oh well . . . I can always run people in 2nd gear.

Well you have to factor in the weather and the road. The concrete absorbs the cold really well. So there is a big factor to consider why you were not hooking well at all. Plus they usually prep of the track with VHT so it hooks good. The good ones at least.

Right, but I've been having these traction problems since the last mods. Concrete or black top it's been a big problem. The VHT helps, if they really clean up the track and you get to be one of the first bunch of racers . . I got to go once right after they did it and you could feel it . . . the car would barely roll.

Maybe if things work out Wednesday we can meet up at the weekly Plano meet.

All I know is that storm came out of NOWHERE. Am watching tv one minute and 5 min later it is a fucking hurricane outside, loud ass thunder that set off car alarms, wind... phew. Luckily I have a carport and didn't get any hail damage, although I don't think we had any in Arlington (but I heard northern parts got some big hail). What pisses me off most is that I washed my car Sunday and now it's all dirty again and supposed to rain again on Thursday.

Yea my old accord turned into damn. The rain pushed so much debris and my old accord was so low that it caught ALL the debris lol so it was flooding a bit around my accord for the water to get around haha. I got lucky and missed some of it I still got hit but like nickel size hail though I still need to check on the damage in a few i doubt its much but still.
