It doesn't take much. I'm only dropped about an inch, yet I've been hearing my lower strut brace clothesline the crap out of snow and ice pretty regularly.

I was able to get to work today. The roads were ok but the overpasses were absolutely horrible. One guy in a truck who thought had wouldn't have a problem went past me on the overpass and came about 6 inches from hitting the side of my car, dumbass. I also passed a person who got stuck on another overpass because of the slight incline and ice combination.

It wasn't bad at all on my commute today. Nothing like my Friday drive to/from work. Drove around Saturday for some errands and almost slid into another car as I was turning onto 75. I was going really slow and was creeping closer and closer to them and the curb. It was a horrible feeling not being in control of my car. Went back out a few hours later and drove by that spot and there were 3 cars with hazards on perpendicular to the road who had hit each other.

For sure. I have about 4" of ground clearance if that, less when you factor in the 3" low hanging exhaust. Low problems...LOL. Constantly chopping the road ice.

I've been pretty lucky... Driving around in a '14 MDX loaner since last Monday, while my TL's in the shop for power-steering related issues. Just in time for the ice-pocalypse!

Today was the first day I took it out since it iced over... Pretty smooth sailing over the cobblestone ice, which I'm sure the TL would give me trouble with if I was in it instead.

I got lucky. For once I got to work from home on Friday and Saturday. Went out on Sunday and for the most part wasn't too bad. People were still driving like idiots though.

At least in my area, I thought the opposite. I was pretty surprised that people were going as slow as they were on Friday and Saturday. It felt very un-dallas like.

That is what I meant by idiots. lol. Many were trying to drive normal in areas where there was almost no ice. Mixed in there you had people driving as slow as a snail thinking they were going to skid all over the place.

You have the TL at a dealer? Our '07 RDX is leaking PS fluid (like a drop every few days). Goodson wants $1500 to fix. Want to see if there is a good indy shop to go to instead.

Yeah, I go to school in Fort Worth, and when I saw smoke coming out from under my hood, I took it to Mac Churchill Acura close by last Monday. Turned out that even though my vehicle report said the PS hose recall was "complete", the service advisor was visually convinced that they never replaced my hose.

When it cracked and started leaking fluid, he believed that it also starved my PS rack (which was replaced with a re-manufactured unit at Vandergriff Honda just in January '13) of fluid and caused it to leak as well. They went ahead and replaced both hose and rack for me free of charge (the rack had a 3 yr/36,000 mi warranty), which pleasantly surprised me since I hadn't given them business before.

Got my car back yesterday, and it drives without a problem now! I would definitely recommend Mac Churchill and Mike Harvey if you HAVE to go to a stealership, and I will definitely be back there in the future for their pleasant service experience and professionalism (and awesome loaner!).

As far as indy shops, you can check out MP Auto Repair in Arlington:
1238 W Arkansas Ln
Arlington, TX 76013

I've never taken my car there before, and I haven't spoken to a friend of mine who works there in years, but I know it's renowned locally. If you check it out and find the guy who drives a white twin-turbo 300ZX, tell him Jonathan says hi!

If you have a PS leak, it may be one of the two things I mentioned above that was troubling my car. Best of luck to you!

Texans do not know how to drive when ice hits...I almost got rear ended but dodged the fucker in the lane full of ice...dumbass fucking tailgating. There is a reason why I am doing 20mph when I can see sheets of black ice on Saturday night...Overall fun weekend...my car did not enjoy it and I hated the people driving...Still had dumbasses spinning out on bridges even when it was semi dry. Entertainment for me...traffic for everybody else. Anyway it is supposed to rain later on this week...hopefully it will clean off most of the sand spilt but they will probably have the sand trucks back out due to freezing weather the following night.

This was me. Especially Friday morning when I was on the road at before 6am. The ice was still fresh on the roads and no real paths made by traffic.

Thanks.

I had taken the RDX to Goodson. They said the rack needed replaced. I took it to Acute Auto Care (Formerly the Honda Doctor) in Lewisville. So far so good. They are going to to be front pads for about $20 less than Goodson, and they called BS on the rack. Said its the steering pump that is leaking and just needs new seals. Going to cost less than 1/5 of what Goodson estimated. Got a good vibe from the dude there. Will report back if I get success. Taking it in on Monday.

FWIW, our leak (its my wife's car) is really slow. Like maybe 20-30 drops in the garage over maybe 4 or 5 months. My G37 needs new pads, too. Our garage is too cramped and our driveway is sloped so its tough to do anything myself. Going to see if they are cool putting aftermarket pads on after the holidays.

I can understand doing that on Friday. This was on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday in most areas that had pretty much dry roads.

Mac Churchill has been fantastic when I needed anything done. They replaced 2 ATs for me (warranty on the 2nd gen glass AT). They also have an online parts service that charges the wholesale prices.

As for indys, look at Danny's Import, they focus on Honda/Acura and have been great for quality and honesty. Look at their site for a 10% off coupon.

I like that their banner on their website says proudly "Specializing in Honda and Acura auto repair" and has a picture of a Ford Taurus next to it.

I don't know anyone with an MDX on the forum in Dallas, but i bet someone has bought a car from them. You looking to buy new or used?

Anyone parting with coilovers?

98-02 accord, 2nd gen TL/CL, 1st gen TSX, etc...

All of these will work on my Legend when combined with accord strut forks.

Sure. I usually meet up with my North Texas Lexus group on Wednesday (whenever they feel like it) at Brickhouse. Or we can throw one out on Sunday.

I'll be hitting the Cowtown Meet this upcoming Tuesday with a buddy of mine... Don't know if that's a bad day for y'all; I believe it starts around 7:00 pm? Have to double-check on that.

Never seen it. If its pink I'm sure someone has seen it as it stands out. Probably a chick. If so I'd be interested!

I know of him; I first sighted his car at the UTI meet, then at a Honda-Fetish meet where we got to chat and know each other. He lives in Grand Prairie.

ABP underneath the Plasti Dip, and lowered on what I believe is H&R coils, maxed out. It's quite the attention-getter! He always gets compliments on it at every meet we go to, and the ladies always ask to touch it. Painted it himself, and the finish is fantastic. Cool guy too!

yeah I also saw his car at the UTI meet awhile back. I'm surprised i've never seen him before. I live only 15 minute from GP.

anyways I just got news that the next CCM (Cup Cake Meet) will be in march 8 at Grand Prairie Lone Star Park. Saturday 1-6 pm.

sadly I work saturdays and don't get off until 5. it's about time they bring it back to Dallas, we got no love last year.
