Just FYI, window doesn't work, either.

It's seen as a "safety" risk in the event of an accident.

Yep, if the wreck is bad enough the plate can decapatate a person's head. At least that is what I have been told by several different officers in the past.

HAHAHAHAHA FUNNY... but sad at the same time. A perfect way to ruin the looks of a car. I need to get some filler plugs for mine actually, so i dont have those dime sized holes where the plate bracket is (supposed) to be. COUGH COUGH. Thank you ACURA for making them, when I have to drill holes in Cadillac bumpers i wanna cry, its like murder. At least we can cover them up!

I got ran into yesterday and my entire drivers side is ruined! front fender, both doors, both wheels and rear quarter are scraped and dented, some idiot tried to switch lanes when i was driving past him and killed my car

Dang! That sucks!!

Every morning I have to hit the horn at least once since there is always at least one idiot who tries to do that to me.

Hope everything goes well with the insurance companies.

The state will still accept the tickets & just apply the previous charges to them. Nothing's honestly changed.

license plate law has NOT changed. They were attempting to re-write it, and simply did not finish. Old laws are still in place. (they dont just delete laws... lmao)... And the only recent change to the law regarding license plate was changed wording stating that the license plate has to be "mounted on front and rear" to read "frontmost and rear most" keeping people from displaying license plates in their windows. It was NOT changed because they perceived a safety issue. There was a discussion a few years back from lobbyists stating that it would save hundreds of thousands of dollars by going to a single plate like other states, but Texas law enforcement claimed it would keep them from having a reflective enough surface for the radar guns to hit... lmao

If I remember it was stated "would create an inability to get an effective radar hit"... because cars are radar proof without a front license plate... lol
They also said it would be harder to identify vehicles.. because you know when they run your tags, they do in from in front of you looking back at their rearview mirror... so lame

I decided to show up last night to the RiceKiller meet. It was actually not too bad. There were alot of mustangs, corvettes, a couple supras, an R8, a viper or two, then some rice... evo's, VW'z, Cobalts, and a few HS kids and their "JDM" hondas and stock cars. I was talking with EvilJoker alot and his buddies who were actually very smart guys and know thier stuff. Ill be going back!

Ricekillers? No thanks. Been to one a few years back.... Not for me.

As far as the front plate goes, for me the cosmetic appeal far outweighs the fines associated with it.

I don't mind the front plate on my tsx that much, especially after moving it to the lower mesh. Plus I get another place to show off my awesome plate.

I think it's worse for the 3g tl crowd because it sticks out more.

I hear ya babe......Ive gone 8 years now without one....Im sure its only a matter of time but Ive beat the odds so far :knocksonwood:

I think its what they use as an excuse to pull you over to find out more info about you. Maybe they dont like your tint, or for some reason you just looked at that moment in time, suspicious to them. Or in the one situation that I was actually pulled over for it, I was entering the tollway and there was a state trooper standing there waving people over. Still I got a warning. The last 4 times Ive been pulled over, it was for speeding. All 4 times I was given a warning for speeding and the cops all said "hey, you know you're supposed to have front plate". My response has always been "yes sir I know, I have the kit to install it Im just waiting on the right hardware which is on backorder, its in my trunk if you wanna see it" I have the front plate mounted in the tow hook kit in my trunk and if called out I would just show them that and say Im waiting on a few more pieces. Will that work? who knows...

I think that there are a few things that come into play for me. One, i have a CHL and I tell them immediately, that (at least in my mind) tells them that I have no felonies. Two, my insurance is with USAA and most cops are prior military. and three, I pretty much kiss their ass the entire time Im talking to them with my hands at 10 and 2 on the steering wheel. I give them no grief what so ever. Or maybe its because they see Im older and realize that they're just wasting both our times fuckin with me.

I swear they have an APB out on me! I was getting gas, and he was sitting in the next parking lot over on Lemmon! I'm pissed 'cause I'm sure at least 30 cars went by him that didn't have a front plate either....a few Aston Martins, Maseratis, Mercedes, etc....BUT NO, he had to pull my poor ass over..... WTF?! I'm not wealthy enough to not have a stupid, ugly, muthafuckin', warty, tumorous, front plate?! Sorry, I'm just fuckin' angry.....

Dont worry... my last decent car was a 1991 Z28 with about $4500 in suspension upgrades, all murdered out with 295/35-18s on the back with 3" exhaust all the way back from headers into a flowmaster with dual 3" dumps... I got harrassed all the time for stupid stuff. Got a ticket for front window tint being 1/4" below the line, pulled over for car being too loud, and other chicken shit reasons...
