I knew about Firestone, but when I called the couple around here they said they didn't want anything to do with lowered cars. The NTB on Arapaho said they had no problem doing it, and didn't mind using wood ramps to get you up on the lift if you are slammed. I am assuming the unlimited at FS is just for stock cars with toe alignment, not all 3 adjustable arms like I have.

It's more expensive but everyone there is pretty cool, and I know they will do a good job on my car every time.

Weird, i went to the Arapaho NTB for a mild drop and they said they couldn't work on it. Ended up going all the way to FT Worth NTB to get an alignment, 3yr unlimited for 157 total.

But hey, we can go to the track and see how that bigass turbo does against my little Elite.

Ive just never been a fan of having alot of power in a heavy car thats FWD.....I wasnt trying to offend you.

Cant say that I havent thought about it in the past

That is weird. There was a guy on this sub forum(too lazy to look up his username) who I told about this shop. This was about a year ago when I called and asked if they worked on lowered cars. He was lowered like 3" and he went to the shop a day before my first time. They got him fixed up no problem.

The cheapest you are going to get is the mexi tire shops in garland if not the armenians. I have seen there mounting...They can't mount a tire for shit. My buddies trafficstars got scratched all along there rim machine because they did not realize it was a reverse mount...then when they did it they still fucked it up. I would pony up the money and go to discount tire. They know how to mount a tire. Don't get me started on the mexi shops balancing tires...Stacking weights if not just putting one random weight on = vibrations. Do it right the first time even though it costs a certain amount and it is a safety item.

Yeah, Discount is the way to go.. those guys will take care of your stuff, not too pricey and will get you out without any hassle or worries.

By the way, which mounts are broken and are you a 6-spd?

I'm new to the DFW area and need to get my timing belt service done. This is a project bigger than I am capable of. Anyone know a trusted mechanic who can handle the job ('07 6SMT TL Type-S)?

I have a $150.00 off coupon to Vandergriff Acura. Anyone have experience with them?

I bought my Acura at Vandergriff, their service is ok.

Huggins Honda will do a timing belt for around $700. Talk to Truce Williams, he is the man.

If you are looking to just get the belt done and not the entire 100K work then you could also goto Half Priced Tire in Arlington of Division. They did my Wife's car for $500.

What all is due at 100K? I was going to do the timing belt, H20 pump, and drive belts.

I replaced the clutch, (Synchromesh) brake, power steering, and radiator fluids, new clutch & flywheel, new brakes, and new plugs at 65,000 miles.

The 1st one died after aprox 1,000 miles. Got my money back and bought a new one with a warranty. I don't have it hooked up for parking mode...tried but never got the damn thing to work right. Other than that, it works okay. I have to re-install the software on my wife's ever month or so as she keeps getting the "check SD card" message.

North Dallas Imports. I had my timing belt done there as well as another member here.

Any dealer, regardless of 'discount' they offer will charge out the ass. A dealer's timing belt service might be $750 and with your $150 coupon you get it for $500. Not bad right? Not. Because all they do in that service is JUST the timing belt. To do the FULL service of timing belt, drive belt, water pump, etc, it costs $1200+ at the dealer.

So yea, I got my full service of all the above for $550 at North Dallas Imports. They are all Honda/Acura certified, nice guys, and stand by their work.

If you want to spend $1300 at a dealer for a full timing belt service, be my guest. If you want to spend less than half of that, then I'd recommend them.

This is the kind of "Insider Information" I was looking for. I want a warranty AND quality workmanship.

I bought all the parts online for my clutch replacement and took it to the dealer in So Cal because I knew they'd make the car run right. Figured I'd spend more up front and save some in the long run. **Thanked**

Anyone have a complete list of parts I will need for the timing belt service

-Timing belt
-Water pump with gasket
-Timing belt tensioner pulley
-Timing belt idler pulley
-Timing belt tensioner
-Drive Belt(s)
-Honda TYPE 2 coolant
From my experience on my last timing belt service i did on my f23
I would also buy-
-Valve cover gaskets and tube seals
-Spark plugs(if you have not done them)
-Belt tensioner(i just replaced mine on my 07 TL- was noisy as hell)
I have to do mine in 10k, im a Cadillac mechanic but the TB isnt to
Big of a deal on these. I just had $4200 in warranty work done last
Week and asked how much the TB service at Goodson Acura was
And they said $875 with only pump and the belts. What a rip!

The combo of the baffles and extra oil keeps your pressure from dropping and grenading your motor in high G turns.

I starting having probs with my 2001 ITR at Cresson. I was pulling so much force thru the corners that my VTEC was cutting off and my car would go into limp mode. To solve it I would need to install a baffled oil pan. I was looking at the Mugen one when I decided to sell the car after being followed home for the second time.

Didn't have that problem on my Type S swapped Civic because of the suspension I was using. I may have had trouble with it if I did the Le Mans track with that car.

We don't have a typical day for meeting up. Hasn't been much action in the past year or so. I hope now that it is getting warmer we can start doing things again!

Met a new member on Wednesday. I forgot but he is new in town and I was on my lunch break (Cane's by midway/park). As I recall his name was Knox or it was his name on here.
