Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
http://engadget.com/2010/06/25/the-iphone-4-it-blends/
Another Apple product launch, another episode of Will it Blend? No cheating this time as far as we can tell, but the production values have certainly gone through the roof for the inevitable iPhone 4 edition and yes, just like everything else they've put in a blender, it blends. See for yourself after the break.
i totally think 400 is do-able at the moment
but as more people get their hands on 4, price will slowly go down
so if any of you plan on selling, and want to do so with good pricing, get your phone ready, and put them up asap

Listed mine at $400. Black, 16GB, 3GS, iOS4, unlocked, multiple apps included, great condition, wrapped with InvisibleShield since day one. Price is firm at the moment.
man.. i love retina and all and i trust scratch free glass (regardless of the shattered case), but i hate how easy finger print is left on the screen
i really don't wanna worship the iphone and try to keep it clean all the time
i loved it when my 3gs had anti-glare film on it.. no need to worry there
anybody going to buy anti-glare film for 4?
how much degradation should i expect on the clarity of retina if i put on anti-glare (since it'll probably be matte finish like previous gens)?
and why is there 5 dollar jump in price for iphone 4??? geez

I probably wont go anti glare this time around, the screen is too good looking.
Seriously issues aside, I'd love to have an i4. But I don't think I can justify it. I'm a little confused since I don't remember what happened exactly when I last did it.
I have a 3GS which I got around September last year. I got it when my previous contract was already expired. If I get an iPhone 4, its supposed to be at a reduced contract.... but when will the contract expire? 2 years after I sign it, or an additional 2 years after when my current contract expires?

this time around for iphone4, they reduced the time upto 6 months
so if you bought 3gs in september, your upgrade date would be around march-ish (which then i'd wait for next gen iphone) and your contract ends 2 years from whenever you got 3gs... it just renews 2 years and previous contract dies
at&t, afaik, has 18 month upgrade policy with iphone (not sure about other phones)

I guess I have to hang on to my old, outdated 3GS

OK Miz....im running 3.1.3 on my 3GS....and of course I want to unlock it for my wife.
How screwed am I, or how much pain am I in for? Everything I read says I have to have cydia on the phone to do anything...which I'm assuming I cant get since I never put it on when I had 3.1.2
Wonder if I should wait for someone to break 4.0 without having to have a previous version or just try and sell it.

iPhone 3GS
Summary: Currently, PwnageTool only works on previously jailbroken 3GS devices with the old bootrom.
If you have a Jailbroken iPhone 3GS with the OLD BOOTROM and you DID NOT use Spirit to jailbreak then you can create the ipsw with PwnageTool 4.0 and restore with your jailbroken recovery mode.
If you have an iPhone 3GS with the NEW BOOTROM this is NOT supported by PwnageTool 4.0PwnageTool 4.01

what other options there are out there.
I read that blurb...
So, basically if I've never jailbroken my 3GS....I'm just SoL. freaking bummer.
I guess I just hope someone figures out how to jb/unlock 3.1.3 or how crack 4.0 without having to have JB already.

shouldn't have used the freaking spirit jailbreak on my 3GS.
I'd be thrilled with 450.

, I meant to do that
