Dang, so there are estimates that when Apple activates ProRes it will eat up like 6GB per minute.
(And yes I already knew ProRes eats a lot of space, but there were rumors it might have a lower bitrate)
and yet Apple is STILL using USB 2.0 spec for the iPhone lightning port.
that’s going to take ages to transfer any footage off the phone.
So Filmic Pro was able to tap in to the ProRes API and it added the ability to record in ProRes in their app.
Pretty interesting and definitely a noticeable difference.
But got damn that thing chews up space. He says it records at 600megabits/sec. Isnt able to transfer it via Airdrop. Only via Lightning USB2.0 speeds.
Anybody else get the message 'No SIM card installed'? I've been getting it every now and then on my iphone 12 (less than a year old). I also got it a bunch on my previous iphone 8.
Sure it usually goes away by itself pretty quickly on my 12 (bigger issues with the 8), but it is getting annoying.
I have never gotten that message with any of my phones. Last year the family upgraded to iPhone 12 Pros (x4) and also did the "TNX" between Sprint and T-Mobile (which involved swapping out sim cards) and so far none of us have had that message come up.

Try replacing the SIM card, could be going bad.. I remember I used to have that problem back in the jailbreaking era when T-Mobile was not fully supported

I think I've seen it before, very rare though, usually, a restart fixes it. Try reseating the SIM card?
Wonder if I should upgrade my moms phone or go base 13.
i did upgrade her to 2nd gen iPhone SE in 2020. I think she prefers the physical home button.
Does she use ApplePay?
If so, the SE with fingerprint reader on a button would be easier to use than a face-ID phone, unless she has an Apple Watch.
That's even more an issue if she wears a face mask in stores.
The home button is the primary reason I haven't moved to a 13-mini.
you’ve never been able to answer calls from voip apps on your watch.
no matter what voice app I use I’ll never get notified of an incoming void call on my Apple Watch. This should fix that. Which has been one of the most annoying things for me about the Apple Watch
iOS 16. Beta one has been pretty stable for me, I’ve been using it on my iPhone and iPad for a few weeks now and haven’t seen really any stability issues. The new features have been nice the text dictation and auto punctuation isn’t too good, but I used the FaceTime hand feature to move a FaceTime video chat from my iPhone to my iPad. Yesterday. The mark as read feature and iMessage is nice, I really like the new lock screen and that’s kind of what stands out the most. So far. So go to www.betaprofiles.com. If you wanna test it out yourself
The auto punctuation sucks. It’s barely worth using it. It likes to put commas where there should be none and loves to put periods in the middle of sentences if you ever pause while talking. Maybe it will get better with more beta builds. If not, people are going to find this annoying, however, the ability to use the keyboard and the microphone at the same time is really nice.
