Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
Is anyone else using a magnetic mount in the car? If so does it affect NAV? I have a 13 Pro Max (and I think it happened on the 11 P.M. although 90% of it's time was during Covid lockdown so I was not traveling that much).
I find if I have the phone on my dash mount NAV directs me to move along streets to get on the freeway WHEN I'M ON THE FREEWAY.
I tested it yesterday off the mount & none of that happened off the mount.

I did a several hour presentation, paid 50 bucks and was promised a slew of merch. Still waiting.
I'll never give them money directly.
ehh what?
Magsafe is just the name of the magnetic connection that Apple uses. You can buy a car mount that just holds your phone and doesn't charge the device. This is what im using.
If the Speck case is magsafe compatible, then the car mount i linked will work with it.

OK, it's MAG something. They solicited through videos seemed like daily about 2019 and got me.
I don't want to block a vent or risk breaking it.
The mount I have serves my purpose and any other using a magnet will have the same thing happen.

I got my 14 Pro. Love it.
Question on video in low light situations + zoom.
When I take a video in lower light situations and zoom in and out, at an auditorium for example, There seems to be a "jump" as I zoom in and out. Meaning the transition does not look at smooth. Comparing apples to apples, same location, same performance, same lighting, it does not do that with my old iPhone 12. This "jump" feels like it's switching to a different lens. And therefore the exposure now changes also. In good lighting situations, the zoom also feels like there is a jump, when I zoom in and out, but less noticeable.
This "jump" is not a mechanical jump but seems like "image jump" like the zoom is not that smooth.
Is this normal? Or is something wrong with my phone?

Going to switch from Android (Pixel) to Apple this year. Will start with replacing the wife's phone pretty soon after launch and replace mine later in the year when the sales start to hit.
i'll be getting the 15 pro max in natural titanium.
But I'm going to wait for in person pick up. dont want to go thru with the whole ordeal of someone at UPS stealing my phones again.
upgrading from a 12PM.

Bruh these prices. I can get a 1TB NVMe drive for $40 but to upgrade from 128GB to 1TB iPhone is $300
Foolish of me to think that they'd lower their prices since SSD costs have cratered
Buy $AAPL

Hmmm curious how this will compare to the ps4 or ps5 version.
also this kind of makes me want to wait for the M3 Pro/Max versions of the Mac Mini/Studio to finally replace my 2018 Mini.

oh and 15 pro max
i shoot photo and video all the time and i have the 256 with 140 free. I save everything to the cloud. More efficient

… i use google photos and pay 100 a year for 2TB storage to avoid spending stupid money on higher storage iphones.
